It's 4 years since receiving the sign up bonus.
You have to wait 4 years since opening the first one before you can get another.
The application date or the card open date doesn't matter. What matters is the date that you received the sign-up bonus. That date is probably the closing date of the statement in which it was awarded to you.

For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

Will buying Visa cards from Staples or Publix be okay to reach $4000 spend?
Quote from mrbehm :
Nope.
Quote from sansart :
Yup. They don't really care how you spend the $4000.

i think this might only have to do with my gfs referral but it says apply by 11/7 for bonus.
again, it might just be specific for the referral link. but if you have plans to apply, i wouldnt wait..

I have a CSP now and got my award a while ago. Is it too late to downgrade and reapply before the deal is over?

Unless "a while ago" is more than 48 months you're not eligible for another one yet.

I can't say I know the answer with this card. However, how can retailers share your purchase to card issuers without your consent? Is card issuer the affiliates of the retailers and allows them to share the customer information and vice versa?

For example, when my AMEX card has $25 statement credit for $250 spend at Best Buy, I bought gift cards at Best Buy and I received my $25 statement credit in my AMEX account. Another example, when my Best Buy Visa card offers 10% cashback at grocery stores, I purchased gift cards at Publix. I received my 10% cashback.

I just don't see why Staples or Publix will share what you purchased with Chase. Chase doesn't not need to know and I don't believe retailers are allow to share what you have purchased with card issuer unless it's under legal investigate or justification. That's what I believe.

Chase doesn't care. You are fine buying goft cards to reach the bonus. Now if you were trying to hit the bonus on an Amex card, that can be a different story...

What you 'believe' isn't reflected by reality. Chase doesn't tend to care, but other issuers often do. Try googling/looking into Level 3 reporting and learn.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. That's why I said "I don't know about this card". But I have not have issues buying gift cards to get my sign up bonus yet. But when in doubt, avoid doing it or take the risk. I just don't see how anyone can tell with 100% certainty unless they are directly involve with this Chase sign up bonus promotion.

So, I got approved after applying online. How do I know if I'm eligible for the bonus points? I last received an award on my Oct 2016 statement.

Goes to the exact day or month in 2016? If latter, think I'll miss this deadline.

Is it correct I also can't have an active CSR to get this CS bonus?
