Sure that will happen when businesses actually start using the pathetic google apps. 🙄

BTW, how is getting apps from the store, not downloading?

Isn't the built in windows defender good enough? I also use malwarebytes to supplement.

For those that downloaded, do you just download an installer or can you download the entire package and then save it somewhere in case you need to reinstall at a later date? TIA

Students, you can usually get office for free from your school. Check on that before spending money on this.

Windows 7 had Windows Defender, didn't it? You may have needed to manually download it though, I can't remember

what are you talking about?

Microsoft is one of the top 3 cloud players today: AWS, Azure & Google. Microsoft offers free Office online just as Google and when it comes down to pricing Office 365 cost less than G Suite. G Suite has an upper hand when collaborating on projects but when using the software as an individual Office is still on top. Microsoft has also addressed the business side for collaboration with Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams

. . . and we are not even talking about businesses and individuals who prefer to store files on local storage and to be internet independent.

The point is, you are very much underestimating Microsoft. As for Intel and AMD they will transition to mobile when the demand requires . . . not anytime soon.

Support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020 (same goes for defender). I am still Ok with Norton . . . but i was wondering what win 10 users are doing.

Oh. I think when I had Windows XP and Vista, Kaspersky was pretty well regarded. There was also Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, but I'm not sure how well those worked for real-time protection. I would just use those two when I suspected an infection.

As for Windows 10, I have always just used Windows Defender, or whatever it's called now. Haven't had a problem yet

Of course, I just bought Office 2019 two days ago from Best Buy for $95. But I had to jump through hoops to get them to price match HP. Then I had to use up all my reward points to bring it down to $95. Then this shows up lol

Buying another one because I need another key for my laptop.
