How much does nvme spec matter on something like this? 1.2a is kind of old, but speeds look okay and endurance is enterprise grade...

Answering my own question after researching. 1.3 added lots of features for boot partitions and drive stats. Not sure if that means this drive would not be suitable for boot, or if just harder to boot from. Also this is 110mm which may matter for some people -- it is physically longer than most consumer drives.

Good deal, but I am on the fence.

Good price but what to do about the overheating issues?

The reviews are abysmal. Spend an extra $40 to not get a headache. I recently bought a ADATA XPG S11 Pro for $244 with tax for a 2GB NVMe. It comes with its own heatsink.

Ok... but a 3D cMLC PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe 1.2a M.2 22110 SSD without some KKZ.L NE LK 4.3 PQ MNN 57 PLP GenX4 or even a 10P CNCN ELX.4 PL WWL OU QC.1 with it? Pass.

the only reason you'd buy this is for the data retention feature when power is suddenly cut. It has capacitors on it you can clearly see that allow to save data rather than corrupt when you have a black out.
