It's odd. The other one disappeared. They used to have one with the blue label/logo for $116, and this one for $106, but coupons didn't apply to this one for some reason - and I couldn't find this one on any other site (no reviews for this drive on OD site). Now this is the only one available.

Would this be good to use as a primary drive on a desktop?
Be careful though if you have other drives using the sata ports.
Some motherboard will disable the sata ports if the nvme (what the m.2 uses) is in use. So you wont be able to use both sata port ssd/hdd and the nvme m.2 drive
I have an older ASUS Z87-Pro. It has PCIe but I'm guessing it probably doesn't support NVMe SSD.
From specs:
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode) *3
4 x PCIe 2.0 x1 *4
Those are not M.2 Slot and your board does not support naively. There are some PCI Express Add-On Cards which directly gets plugged into your PCIe X4 or X16 Slot and those cards have M.2 Slots where you can attach a NVMe SSD. But since your motherboard is quite old, high chance that it will not support those kind of added drives as a boot device.
