I had two hero 7 blacks go "bad" on me and was engaged in a 1.5 year fight with them over replacements on and off, only to find out that two out of three Samsung memory cards I bought off of Amazon as FP slick deals were fakes, and actually what caused my cameras to freeze, crash, fail to give me clear files at random. I felt like an idiot. I was so sure it was GoPro's fault.
Amazon gave me refunds for the cards even tho one was over a year old and I threw them in the trash.
Next memory cards I buy will be directly from Best Buy via price matching to Amazon.
First, if you are already a gopro subscriber, they give you an additional discount on the camera. I am not, so I couldn't see what the discount actually was.
When you check out, they break out the subscription cost (49.99) separately from the bundle cost and ask you to acknowledge it. At first, I was confused and thought they were adding this to the total cost, but when I checked out, it wasn't added. I did have to pay tax, and 2-day shipping was free.
Damn it. I ordered the GoPro 8 from Costco on June 13th. Is it too late to return it? It says 90 days which I'm off by a few days but will they make an exception?
Who can explain text from GoPro below: If GoPro subscription is purchased as part of a bundled camera promotion, customer may cancel the subscription portion of the bundle post purchase and acknowledges they will be charged the full retail price of the camera.
is it mean that you cannot cancel your subscription during the first year and you gonna be automatically changed for 2nd year? and only after that you can cancel?
A little of subject here but I got an email from AAFES on their "Military Exclusive Price" on this GoPro 9. $450 list price but the "Military Exclusive Price" price from AAFES is $430. WTF?!?! No tax but come on AAFES.

That seems to be the best/safest solution.
This is the reason for I am getting more and more hesitant to shop from Amazon. Fake products and fake reviews.
So they're saying that you're paying $50 for the subscription and $300 for a $450 camera.. so if you try to cancel the subscription you'll owe them an extra $100 so you've paid $450 total.
If you change your mind and want to return the camera, you're still stuck with the subscription, so you'd only get $300 back.
So if it auto-renews and you're charged $50 for year 2, I would think you could then cancel at the start of year 2, and get almost all of your second $50 back (pro-rated for whatever time you had it.)
it looks that it is not refundable.
You may cancel Your Subscription at any time as described in Section 6, effective at the end of the billing period. You can access all the Subscription benefits until your cancellation is effective and no refund will be issued. https://gopro.com/en/us/legal/subscriptionterms
Yes but testing my cards was time consuming and then I had to deal w getting refunded. I'd rather not worry so much or need to deal w this again in the future.

Absolutely agree with this. Prime is great and all for toilet paper and books but forget about being sure that you'll get a genuine battery/SD card/any small branded item. B&M stores like Walmart and Target are the only sure way to get genuine products as they have a directly delivery line from the manufacturer. Remember... "sold and shipped by Amazon" does NOT mean genuine product.
Do NOT make the mistake of getting the bundle like I did. If you get the camera + subcription it will come out about $10 cheaper if you order the bundle items separate (assuming you want all bundle items).
Tried calling to change my order but it had shipped and turned into a hassle.
A bit dishonest offer/bundle if you ask me.
I noticed that with the "bundle savings" too. Your only saving grace is if you're planning on buying 10+ accessories in the subscription year as I don't think the bundled items count against that limit. If you're buying higher priced accessories it should be easy to save over $10 in the long run.

Hero9 Bundle + Subscription = $399.98
Hero9 Black (camera only) + Subscription + all accessories from bundle = $391.45

True.. though I don't imagine I'll hit the 10 item limit (unlike when I'm in a hurry at the grocery store).
