*** UPDATE -- free AAL ends COB Thursday, 9/24! ***

It appears that another T-Mobile "Line On Us" for existing customers is coming this Friday. No word on the duration of the promo. Voice lines only.

It also allegedly stacks with the prior free lines. I'll update with any cheap/free phone deals that may be available...

Look up your SOC code (pasted from prior deal thread -- can't create a Wiki for some reason):

How do I look up my SOC code?
If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".
you'll see your SOC Code in the Response section. For example, here is the relevant section:

````
{
"ratePlan": {
"name": "Simple Choice North America 10GB Family Match Promo",
"planType": "SIMPLECHOICE",
"socCode": "10SFM2LN"
}
}
````

You need to be on the "home" URL when you enable the tools. I've attached a screenshot that shows (circles) all of the areas you should be at or click to ensure you can see the SOC Code. Sorry if this is too complicated - just trying to share info.

For your plan code view in Chrome:
View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

You mean $100 Costco card vs $250? But looks like $100 is from Costco and shouldn't bother with T-Mobile rebate though.
Someone on Reddit said that it may invalidate the rebates: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/..._addaline/

How to know it was surely a free one? I really had a bad agent running all over the place to figure out what needs to be done. I am worried now :-( I asked 100 times and she said its free and no charges but sounds like horror story to me
I could see in my account online that the new line was getting charged $15 for a higher plan. After the correction my account says $0/month for the line.

Look at your service agreement that was emailed to you. Mine just says I'll be paying tax on my new line because I'm on simple choice plan.
My service agreement says nothing I have tmobile one plan so taxes are inclusive. However when I do order status details then I see $155 rate (but CC was only charged $10 for sim) and something. I dont understand what it means. I guess need to wait till I get sim or line shows up on account and then review

Kept getting an agent that insisted that it's bogo and not straight free. Anyone else have this issue?
Ignore the agent. If you know your account SOC qualifies, just add a line (via agent, online, chat). You're leaving it up to one of the bazillion agents to be knowledgeable about the offer. In the past offer thread, I believe I've read posts where an agent thinks an account qualifies, adds a line, only to find out later it didn't. Although I'm sure it's rare, agents make mistakes too. Again, if your account qualifies then just add a line in the most convenient way for you and it will be free. The worst thing that can happen is your account really doesn't qualify and you have to cancel the line ... not the end of the world. This won't happen because you confirmed your SOC code per the first post before proceeding.

I really hope I dont have to call them again to get fixing done.... They are painful to deal with. Getting good or bad CSR is luck based

Check out the deals here: https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/deals-hub

The new line ticks off the "activate a line" requirement. You might have to port-in a number to qualify for some of the offers (buy an AT&T port-in number on eBay if you want to go that route). I'm going to port in an AT&T number for the $250 back mentioned in this thread.

If you're going for a 5G phone offer, check out the insider hookup thread for info on type 3 codes for $200 off.

Went into Costco today to add a free line and port-in number under BYOD to get $100 gift card. However, I didn't have an old IMEI number on me for the new number. They somehow selected one for me and completed the paperwork. Everything went fine at the end, or so I thought. When I tried to submit the rebate online later on, it didn't go through because of the incorrect IMEI they gave me. So, now I have to back to Costco tomorrow to sort it out. What a headache. Or, can I just use any old IMEI from a phone I have laying around to submit the rebate?

No help with Costco but if you don't mind a little work, port in an AT&T or Verizon number (get former from eBay for $6) and get $250 back with this offer instead: https://slickdeals.net/f/14353982-t-mobile-get-a-250-virtual-prepaid-card-when-you-activate-a-new-line-of-service-with-byod-port-in

If your SOC is one of the approved plans, just go add a line yourself. If your plan qualifies, it will be free. There's no special code that a rep would enter to make the line free ... they just add a line like you can do yourself. If you do do this, the line doesn't show up as free as you check out. The free line promo qualification shows up after that fact automatically (for me, it was when my sim card shipped).
so you just go through the online steps, without entering any promo code, see the additional charge, but OK it anyway, and hope when the sim card ships the charges will go away? Sounds quite risky to me.. If it doesn't go away, would you be able to cancel the line later on?

I called in, they said my plan had a max of 7 lines which I'm at, so I couldn't add a free line. sigh.

Yeah, I did that too, just trying to double-dip. Is it allowed though? I hope it goes through. I read from previous posts, some people are doing the same thing. Crossing my fingers!
