The free line must be done by a rep, you can't do it yourself thru the add a line option. Either online chat, 611 call or text.
One thing I've noticed is the "Unlimited Data /w 6GB Hotspot" promo does not apply to the new line (my other lines all have it).

The guy at the store is like "Its automatic, you just have to wait 1 to 2 billing cycles to see it." Somehow that just did not sound reassuring. On the upside, Tmobile did send me a text saying I am getting some sort of bill credits...I just can't find anything on my account.
