*** UPDATE -- free AAL ends COB Thursday, 9/24! ***

It appears that another T-Mobile "Line On Us" for existing customers is coming this Friday. No word on the duration of the promo. Voice lines only.

It also allegedly stacks with the prior free lines. I'll update with any cheap/free phone deals that may be available...

Look up your SOC code (pasted from prior deal thread -- can't create a Wiki for some reason):

How do I look up my SOC code?
If you want to know what your SOC code is, login using a web browser so you are looking at your account. Be sure to enable "Web Console". (FireFox --> Menu --> Web Developer --> Web Console) Pop over to the Network tab and look for an XHR request to "Subscriber".
you'll see your SOC Code in the Response section. For example, here is the relevant section:

````
{
"ratePlan": {
"name": "Simple Choice North America 10GB Family Match Promo",
"planType": "SIMPLECHOICE",
"socCode": "10SFM2LN"
}
}
````

You need to be on the "home" URL when you enable the tools. I've attached a screenshot that shows (circles) all of the areas you should be at or click to ensure you can see the SOC Code. Sorry if this is too complicated - just trying to share info.

For your plan code view in Chrome:
View>Developer>JavaScript Console. Then tap Network tab then XHR tab.
Then go to the main T-Mobile account homepage (the magenta square with white T in the upper left…or refresh it if already there).
In the Java window, single-tap Subscriber (or type it in the Filter search tab if you can't find it, then single-tap Subscriber)
Tap Response tab (if not already selected). In that long string, you will find the plan and socCode.

That was easy. After spending a few hours on the chat back in June to get the free line then and make sure it's really free this time I just trusted the process.
  • Placed order online yesterday at 1pm on the website. Adding a new line did not indicate any discounts as expected. Paid $10 for the SIM.
  • Order marked as shipped via email/text this morning at 10:45am
  • Text confirmation of the promo text today at 1pm
  • SOC plan #FRLTULF2 (original T-Mobile One)
Took 5 minutes yesterday instead of being glued to the chat window for hours. I am totally OK with making this a quarterly event. How about a wearable or tablet line next time. Big Grin

Still debating if I wanna buy a new unlocked phone from apple and use the $250 BYOD with number port-in.

Mahalo T-Mobile. worship
Why not just grab the $250, then figure out the iPhone question later?

It's very clear, if after adding this line, if you cancel any line from the plan, you will loose this promo.
So if i dont cancel any line.....but add this free one, will i get an additional $5 autopay and $5 kickback from the new free line?

Data point for AMPLIFIED customers.

Ok I took a leap of faith. Reached out to T-Force to add a line. I did not mention free line promo. Rep informed me that it would be $30/mo. I agreed and the rep added the line (activated my iPhone eSIM). I checked my online account and the "2020 Line on Us 2" promo is already applied. WOOHOO! Now I hope it sticks. We will see. My plan SOC is MGAMP9 for reference

You'll get an autopay credit as long as this line isn't line 9-12. Kickback is grandfathered. You'd have to ask to have it added. Even if added, it won't make a difference if this line is an add-a-line (not in your base plan and has a separate line charge). It shouldn't make a difference even if it's in your base plan, but I've seen some funny things with that, so that's up in the air.

Thanks! I don't currently have any insider discount or anything added. Not sure what the SOC is. Can I add any of these things to cut my bill ?

Insider (Hookup) discount requires you to open a new account and port from another provider. Kickback definitely won't be added if you don't already have it. It's much harder to get it nowadays even if you do already have it on your account.

I do have kickback already for the existing lines. So the new line may get it ? If that's the case adding the line could take $10 off my bill right ?

You need to provide them with the IMEI# of the device you are bringing. I don't have anything flying around right now. You may have to insert the SIM and connect it at least once I would assume so it registered on their network before you can claim the rebate, no?

If it's account-level, it should be added automatically. Most situations I seen have it at the line level. In that case, you'd have to ask for it. Even then you're probably going to have to try a number of reps to get it added.

You don't have to provide the IMEI. I just filled out the form the other day. All you need is the phone number you ported in, assuming we're talking about the same $250 prepaid card for porting in a number.

Kickback is grandfathered but applies to the paid lines, not the free ones. While the free lines inherit the data plan from the main plan they don't inherit any add-ons by default. Some have reported to be able to get things added, I tried a few times and could not get anything on it.

That would be awesome. I will wait until the line is properly added with the promo and then do the port-in.

Kickback can be added to free lines, but shouldn't make a difference. I have personal experience with receiving Kickback and a full free line credit on one of my free lines. It shouldn't happen, but it did. That may be related to the fact that the line was originally an add-a-line that later moved into my base plan. It's hard to tell if that was a system glitch or due to the fact that the promo was account-level while the Kickback credit was line-level. I'll be testing it this month with my newly added free line to see.

Kickback and One Plus Promo can either be account- or line-level. Most situations I've seen (including my own) are line-level. If that's the case, then yeah, you'll have to ask for those to be added separately for new lines. If they're account-level, they'll be added automatically.

Yep, you just have to wait until the port-in is complete. It then asks you to enter the number, which then brings you to a page to log into your account. From there, you just have to type in name/address, select the new number from a drop-down listing all the lines on your account, then use a drop-down again to choose the line you want the text containing the link to your virtual card sent to.

I'd say it only takes 5 minutes, but that would be a lie. It's more like 2.
