Edit: the chat just gives me message about shortened customer service hours then closes on me. Sigh. Human interaction it is.
I was assured (again) on this 10th line that my bill would not increase because of the added line. We'll see, then I'll get it straightened out from there.
This is why I prefer to work with T-mobile in writing rather than calling in and talking.
The good news is that you have it in writing. So at least that's a start. You likely will run into issues due to the activation date of the 3rd line (supposed to be free) being outside of the promotional window.
Executive Care has a lot of ability. I don't know how far that extends with free lines and getting them to stick on lines activated outside a promotional window. I have heard stories over the years of Exexutive Care putting free lines on plans that weren't actually eligible, so they can probably work something with you.
For the hassle, I'd also ask them to apply the Insider Hookup for you.
Just to make sure there's no miscommunication, though: what is the name of the credit on your account making one of your lines free?
On my plan, there's this line that says: $25 2020 Line On Us 2 (Additional Lines)
I'll call tomorrow to check if it's coded right. Is there some preferred method of contacting them is more likely to get someone who can figure out how to fix things if they aren't coded correctly?
Special number or Facebook or just 611?
On my plan, there's this line that says: $25 2020 Line On Us 2 (Additional Lines)
You're already on a plan? As far as I'm aware, the free line offer that ended on the 17th was only for new customers opening a new account with 2 or more paid lines. It was not applicable to customers that already had an account.
The offer that started the next day was for both new customers adding 2 or more paid lines, or current customers with 2 or more lines.
It sounds like you're only eligible for one free line, not two, if you were looking to add these lines to a pre-existing account.
Is there something I'm missing here?
I am on the Magenta + plan with the 20% insider hookup. This is my 4th line -previous 3 include 2 paid + 1 free from the promo that ended on 9/17. The odd thing is that the previous free line has my bill showing at the price for 2 lines. After the line today the billing is showing at the price for 3 lines. I am wondering if this is just something that takes a while to update on my account such that I would only see the price for 2 lines or if this works differently as a credit for the 4 the free line once the bill shows up.
Also, I did the trade in for the Iphone 8 in store. Do you know if there is a secondary check of the condition of the trade-in once Tmobile corporate receives the phone or am I done once the store has accepted the trade in?
Finally, they did not open the phone and put the Tmobile sim in the new phone. Does this mean that the phone is unlocked?

I chatted with T-force and the first rep said I was eligible, the other 3 reps (I chatted multiple times) on T-force said my plan is not eligible. I went ahead and added a line (sim card) online on Wednesday. When it shipped on Thursday, I got the following text. So it looks like I may be eligible too.
Congrats! You will receive your promotional service discount from T-Mobile as long as you maintain eligibility. View http://t-mo.co/activity for account details.

For example I added the free line yesterday. I can't cancel any of the existing lines for 1 year otherwise i would lose the free line. But if I add another paid line and then cancel that line in a few months, it shouldn't impact the free line, correct? This paid line was not there when I added the free line. So it shouldn't impact the status of the free line. Is that correct understanding? Thx
