You can easily test that. Go to T-mo web site and select the BYOD deal, add the BYOD SIMs to your cart, and do a checkout. After you've filled in your personal info, it'll do a credit check (which appears to be a soft pull because I didn't get any alert for hard pull). If it comes up and says "Looks like you're a Sprint customer, log into your Sprint account to complete the order", then you're are in the same boat as me. If it doesn't come up with that message, then you're in the clear. Just terminate your order at that point and go buy some Ebay numbers.
did you have a "credit-check" account at sprint?
if you had a non-credit check accoutn at sprint, will you still run in the same issue?

Just to clarify this ONLY works if you have a device to trade in.

Correct?

Sprint has a comparable deal. I ported out a google voice #. They keep asking where its from and I am telling them its AT&T. What are people saying when they port a google voice #. Are you getting away with just saying AT&T?
What you say don't matter. Any number can be ported as long as you own it. What matters is would rebate validation system flag or reject rebate, if number is not from mentioned cariers. These automated systems can easily see/determine atleast if number is mobile or landline.
Google voice numbers are type=landlines. Try using with Zelle or some banks and you 'll see what I am talking about, if it didn't make sense already.

No, there is no device tradein required.
This is byod - bring your own device, portin your existing number from a approved carrier, and get $250 in 8 weeks.
approved carrier list = AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, Spectrum, Claro or Xfinity

Yep, if you have a Sprint account that you can still log into then you'll need to go to a store and let the agent deal with the issue. The way I see it, it's still a money maker but not as good if the store charges you $30 per line to activate.

Worst case: (Magenta Plan with 4 lines)
Activation fees: 4 x $30 = $120, plus taxes & fees.
3 months of service: 3 x $140 = $420
Rewards: 4 x $250 = $1000
Net Profit: $1000 - $120 - $420 = $440 (less taxes on activation fees)

Best case: (Magenta Plan with 4 lines)
Activation fees waived at store, no charge for SIMS.
2 months of service: 2 x $140 = $280
Rewards: 4 x $250 = $1000
Net Profit: $1000 - $280 = $720, plus any extra offers, discounts.

I'm still trying to decide whether I want to go to a store and do the deal. I'm not real crazy about the Metabank Virtual GCs which you can't convert to cash easily or use in a real store.
Wouldn't the savings be greater if you picked essentials plan?

My Sprint account is a "credit check" account. I think T-mo does a credit check on all orders, whether you have a Sprint account or not.

There's no definite info on which plans qualify for this offer. I just used Magenta as a "safe bet" because it's not the cheapest.
