Thanks for your response. how about getting sim cards from apple store (for free) then call to tmo to activate the lines?
I don't know the answer. If you get those SIMs without placing a T-,mo order, how does T-mo know which account to tie them to?

FYI, Tmobile always ships pre-activated sims with temp nos
just insert them into your device, and you are up and running right away.
you can call in and port-in your nos on sim receipt
also, they auto-begin billing on shipment + 2 days (since they do 2nd day air delivery).
there is no way to change bill cycle or activate service on-demand after receiving sim/device.
how about using the old sim cards (used 6 months ago)?

Yes you can go get TMO sims from Apple store, or if you've bought a TMO phone from Costco recently, you probably have an unused TMO sim in the phone box. Costco activated my last new phones with cards they had as I asked them not to open boxes at that time.

Just used that unused sim from Costco to open the free line on us through T-Force facebook chat. No charge for Sim as I provided it, no $20 assistance fee, and since not waiting for sim to arrive, the line was ported and activated while on chat

And I would suggest T-Force Facebook messenger as they are more seasoned employees, and you won't have to beg for $20 assistance fees back like with call or regular chat activation. And then you have a log of convo as well.

Is there an activation fee when you call in to port the number?

The attachment shows how the cost is broken down. You order 4 lines but the 3rd line is free. Although I said in another post that you have to activate the 3rd line to get it because it's not automatically added, that applies to people with existing account.

Here's an analogy: A store has a sale "Buy Two, Get the 3rd One FREE". If you go into the store and checkout with 3 items, they'll only charge you for two. But if someone had bought two items before the sale, the store will not search them out and give them another item free. If those people go back to the store and ask for a free item, then the store will honor the deal and give them one free.
Your total is $140. According to the thread below, they can get 4 Magenta lines for the total of $96. Looks like we can really get 2 lines for free. Am I missing something here?

Yes, I have 2 sim cards (unused from Costco), is there any activation fee?
Currently I'm on chat with tmo online, she is asking assistance fee of $80 for 4 lines, trying to avoid it.

You can do that. Then you'll hope you're not charged the $20 support fee by having them setup the account for you. Many people have gotten that waived if they get a helpful representative; others have posted that they couldn't get the fees waived.

I don't think you can re-use sim cards.

It's up to the representative whether they waive it or not. If yours won't, either pay it or end the chat and try again with a new person.

End chat and try on T-mobile F-Force messenger on FB. Or head back to Costco to activate, in which case you wouldn't even need to have unused sim cards

Make sure you have an IMEI # to use for each line

Normal Essential plan isn't in the exclusion list.

The new 4 lines for $100 Value Essentials is excluded from promo

If you read that thread, that 4 lines for $96 was only if you acted quickly and started a new plan before the 9/18. You can't get 2 lines for free now.

Your best option now for 4 lines is 4 for $140 minus 20% insider hookup offer making it 4 for $112.

Edit: you can try to sign up with 3 lines (3rd line free) and then after the account is activated, add a 4th line. Can't hurt to see if that added 4th line will magically fall under the free line promotion; likely not but worth a shot.

Any recommendations on a cheap phone I can buy for this? Just checked the 4 I had here with their compatibility checker and apparently none of them work with Tmobile.

according to the chat rep, according to the chat rep, one would have to get a post paid plan for at least the 1st month (if over 55 the free talk and text and NO data would be $20 plus tax OR $40 with unlimited data), THEN after the 1st month then one could switch to prepaid unlimited talk and text plus 2gb of data for $15/month, and still get the $250 prepaid credit card

thank you so much.
