For those that added the free line online with Magenta, do you originally see $20/month and get the credit later for the free line? Or will it show $0/month, indicating you qualify for the free line?

Got the T-mobile email with my assigned phone numbers, so I am about to port in. Can I port in through chat, or do I have to call in?
I'm also in same spot. I thought SIM cards should be delivered to port in.

Yes you can go get TMO sims from Apple store...
Do you think there is a reasonably chance that the Apple Store will give 4 sims? Maybe best to bring 4 iPhones with me to maximize the chances?

The ported number would still have a monthly fee, right?

I am on Magenta. I had 4 lines, added a new line using this promo - the total monthly cost remains the same. For me under discounts, it shows a new line item "$20 2020 Line On Us 2 (Additional Lines)".

You can do the port in once your new line is assigned a phone #. There's no need to have the physical sim card in your possession; it plays no role in the port-in process.

It shows $20/month when you actually do the online add of a new line; there's no indication at that time that the line will be free. If you qualify for the free line, your account will automatically update in a day or so reflecting the free line discount.

For AT&T numbers on Ebay, the least expensive seller on Ebay (that I can find, cellphonesales402,) says that the numbers that he has for sale only work when porting in store. I can't imagine that that's true. I can't imagine that that's true.
anyone try it online?

I got a new line added yesterday, via TForce on Twitter. The agent also completed the port-in right after adding the new line and placed an order for SIM. I received the SIM today, called in phone customer service to activate the line. The new line is now active with the ported in number.

So the number assigned by Tmobile is just a temp number, your port in number is the official number, right? This is a little confusing. thanks for any clarification.

Is there any fees at the store for activating new lines with port in? online they charge assist fees and sim card fees.
Same fees ($10 sim card, $20 support fee) in store. At least online, there's half a chance a nice rep will waive one or both of the fees.

Sorta. The number assigned by T-Mobile is your phone # on that line until you decide to replace it with something else via a port-in.

Technically it does. If this is your currently in use number, hold off on the porting or you won't be able to use that number. God forbid, the sim got lost in order/shipping process then more mess to clean up. If you can live w/o that ported numbers (just in case for a while) then do proceed w/o the actual sim in hand.
