That would be a sweet deal then. I know I added 4 new lines with TMO thru Costco in July. I summited my rebates for $100 each line that same night. Then I ordered 4 new phones from TMO online by doing a upgrade on those lines. Well anyways those lines qualified for T-mobile current promos because it was done within the 14 day remorse period.

I bought 2 iPhone SE 2020 for $200 off each, a one plus 8 for $350 off and a iPhone 11 for $700 off with eligible port in plus trading in a iPhone 8. So most people on Slickdeals told me I would not get both Promo. Anyways I just checked on rebate status yesterday and I was approved for all 4 rebates and it said mailing date was 9-17. I'm pretty stoked about this deal.

You can do like me and Cardboardbox, do the deal using the info of a relative who has never had an account with Sprint. You can also do like some others, go to a local store and let the agent sort out the mess, and pay $30 per line for assist/activation fee.
Thanks! For those that went to the store, is it a definite they will fix the mess and then we can get our $250 gift cards? I'm doing this as a money maker. I will then ditch 3 of the 4 lines when I get the gift cards and just take one line to Tmobile $15 prepaid.

The $30/line assistance sucks, but if they can fix everything and I get my $1000 in gift cards, I'd probably still go for it. Definitely blows though.

Will rep you again when I can. Won't allow me right now ha!

I asked on Reddit for a code this morning and haven't got anything. Somebody suggested opening Discord account/ticket and get it sooner. I tried to create a Discord account and although I worked in IT for 35 years I couldn't wrap my head around its site structure. Social Networking sites are not my thing. Probably too late for me to use a hookup code anyway because I already created my account and ported in. The hookup code sounds like the Sprint referral concept, you have to pre-register before opening/activating your account.
Trying to help you now. I called Tmobile at 800-937-8997 today (say agent several times will get you to right place) and the CSR gave me the 20% Hookup code. Very easy and quick. Not sure the exact rules though.

Thanks for the tip, but I think it's too late for me to use a hookup code.

I think several people went to a store but only one succeeded. I can't remember who it was, but he/she said it took an hour in the store for the agent to call various T-mo/Sprint depts to "migrate" from Sprint to a T-mo account. A Sprint rep also used the term "migrate" when suggesting that I go to a store.

btw - do you know if the hookup registration needs to match anything on the tmobile account other than phone number? My wife started the process by doing the hookup when we thought she would create the account, but now that I'm making an account for my FIL, I'd prefer not to use my wife's email address.
it does not need to match. i registered with my details but later opened an account on a family member's name and ported in the registered number. rep confirmed that 20% off will be applied to the account soon.

Don't stress it! Go to the Hookup sub reddit, click on the blue Discord banner on the right. Sign up for Discord account, then proceed. Accept invite from Jman100 if promptee. . .if the next page, on the left has a section of Hookup 2020 tabs, click on "Hookup-info" and then go for the Ticket Tool/Hookup Ticketing system. . .kinda like getting a visa band for concert tickets (before the interent). take the ticket number like in a deli, then a few hours later (normal hours) you should have a question of "what type" which you respond type 1 20%. . .and you should get your code within a few hours more or faster

If you did not get to the page with hookup tabs on left after you signed up for discord. . .then go back to the Hookup Reddit page and click on the Discord banner on the right again, and it should then ask you to accept JMAN100's invite. . .and you're all set to proceed as above.

I think you have to email or text verify when signing up for Discord as well,

Seems like you have 14 days to submit Hookup 20% after activating service; as well as 14 days from submitting hookup to activate service, no?

You should keep trying until you find the right person to help. I had the same issue where I closed a Sprint account in July and when I went to open my T-mobile account I was not able to because the Sprint account was still tied to my social security number. After speaking with many different reps over the last 2 days I was finally able to go to a store and open the T-mobile account today. The last person that I spoke with on the phone had to do a 3 way call between me, the T-mobile rep, and they had to get a legacy Sprint rep on the phone to be able to look at my old Sprint account and see that it was paid up and closed with no issues 2 months ago. Somehow they got it sorted out and they then got T-mobile activations on the line also and he checked if I was able to open the account and went ahead and did the credit check and said everything looked good. I then went to the T-mobile store and opened my account, the rep also had an issue but he was able to make a call and get everything done for me.

I missed to post my store visit experience here. T-M tele rep needs to remove social from our Sprint closed account.

Big story in short;

I had an appointment at 5 PM ET today which was scheduled by the chat rep. Went to store and the rep was really helpful. I explained my old Sprint account flag issue while porting into T-Mobile. She asked my Id and started new application by using my social. In final stage she got some 6XXXX ( Internal error code) and she called T-Mobile department ( Not sure which department) and conveyed this error code and my social. During the call, she asked the support person to remove my social from Sprint account. Lot of discussion between them regarding Sprint account and they verified my Id and address. After 15 minutes discussion between them, my social was removed from S and new T-M account was created over the phone by tech support.

Store rep was ported in my two AT&T numbers ( eBay numbers) and also gave 3rd sim activated with system number. Total 2 lines are ported along with one number which I will port in later.

Same steps were followed for my wife's social and ported in 1 AT&T number along with two system numbers.

Conveyed big thanks to store reps and happily exit with 6 T-M sims.

Note -

For old Sprint customers with CC account, store visit is the best option. Explain your issue and just request the store rep to remove your social from S account. They will call T-M to remove your social which will be very fast. YMMV. But it is doable.

Port out/ cancelled all ruled out. Only social matters a lot.

it's a mixed response from reps. when porting my xfinity number to tmobile, the rep always addressed that number as a verizon number, even though i mentioned that it's carrier is xfinity. seems like the system recognizes the number based on the network it uses. So there is a very good chance for cricket to qualify as it could show up as an att number.

if you want to go with cricket instead of an ebay att number, at least find a rep who confirms that your cricket number qualifies and ask him/her to add notes about it on your account, which could be useful in case there's a problem when processing the rebates.
