I am not sure about this. I have 4 unlocked iphones to put the Sim's in. You need IMEI number to port anyway. Not sure if they can port all 4 SIM's using same IMEI number.
No, IMEI is not required to port in or submit the rebate.

I use 4 separate phones because I have them. Some people use one phone and juggle the SIMs to get the texts sent to each number.

Honestly, I am not planning on putting them in any phone at all. Terms only say line active, and SIMs can be active but not used in a device technically. You can choose one of your existing lines (if you are already a customer) to get all 4 rebates sent to, otherwise you can just choose 1 of your 4 new lines to send promo cards to and leave a phone with that SIM inserted on to wait for the text.

Still waiting for numbers to come from re-lux.
If you don't see them within 30 minutes, check your email spam/trash folders, or log into your Ebay account and look for messages from the seller.

You're an experienced T-mo customer. Most of these posters are new to T-mo. They will need to create a T-mo ID. When doing so, T-mo will send a confirmation text to the number that the user selected. Without a SIM in the phone, the new user will not get that text.

The issue is at this point promo ends today. Unless they happen to ship the SIMs yet today, the lines won't be active during promo period. SIMs ship activated with a place holder number which is fine, but you are taking a chance as terms say line must be activated by 10/1 and rebate can be submitted after porting number up to 30 days later.

At this point you are best going to a store to attempt to obtain SIMs directly from them, but it can apparently be a challenge to actually find a store willing to sell them alone. See my post above for advice on corporate vs authorized locations, although that is just a theory using my own logic, not a sure thing. No reason not to call ahead to confirm with your particular store.
I found a corporate store selling for 10 , so just buy 4 from today and activate . Do I call customer service or online to activate the sims ? Thanks

Thanks for the information. I guess we need it for 1st phone to setup account right? I received ATT number. Going to call and port it. Also going to try and get $20 * 3 activation charges paid.

Thanks

I was just at the store, they said they have to charge $30 per line/sim, how do you get the $20 and 3 free sims? Thanks
Yes. $20 for assistance fee + $10 SIM. Some stores will charge only $10 SIM but YMMV. It is better to get it activated all lines at store and try to chat with rep for refund.

I'm at the store, how do I get it refunded after when the store wants to charge $20 per line now ?

No, the IMEI is not needed at any point in the whole process. When porting, the rep will need the temp phone number if the SIM was activated with that; if not the rep will need the SIM number, not IMEI number.

Yup. I did online chat. Can be through TMO app or through account login on website. Not sure if chat can be accessed if you don't have an existing account, but I doubt it.

If you are a new customer you may have to call port in dept at (877) 789-3106. Alternatively you can contact them through Facebook messenger. According to wiki for this post on that.

I had my rep offer to waive activation charges when he took SIM IDs and phone numbers through chat, but YMMV on that.

You're right, but all I was saying is that you don't need 4 phones or to juggle SIMs to look for the reward text. During redemption, you can choose to have all 4 virtual cards sent to one number if you want. In their situation, it may be better to have one spare phone with one of the four SIMs inserted to watch for all 4 texts for rebate redemption.

Ask them to waive the assisted fee in the store. The reps online won't waive the fee if you already pay for it.

ok, but youre going to outline your experience right? its important to share any issues you had encountered. think about the OP who spent the time outlining their steps for you. dont be like others who come here begging for help then dont contribute anything after "you got yours".

ofc i was planning to anyways... but My story was a little sad. I went to the 2nd store they were unable to refund the fees. However, i remember reading a post saying that the activation fees can be credited later on so i didnt mind eventually.

So i talked to a very nice young man from a store who actually opened and ported in all 4 lines for me today. According to him, the 20% promo code dates are very very strict, and he had dealt with their promo team a lot.. because i activated my lines 1 day late(10/1 instead of 9/30), so i will lose the 20% off my megenta plan even i did the steps described in the thread to tie the phone number to my account.

That also means, all the BYOD promo that ends literally today, so everything we shared here after the last store in US closes today will be history...

That also means, if you didnt activate your device today, your 250 BYOD promo will very likely NOT apply

After i knew the 20% promo status is denied, i can see that denied status on the promotion tmobile, com after entering the main phone number on the account. However, i have made an attempt to call in to the prmo center team 877-470-3619 that transferred me over to customer care. I told them that i was supposed to activate yesterday but for some reason getting sprint zombie account issue and it had to do it at store today which causes the delay. The customer care rep created a case and will call me back in 1 week. I do not have much hope for that..

EDIT: I did encountered the zombie account issue today. If anyone still at the store, all they need is your ID(ssn is what the activation guy asked from the phone, and it was a hard credit pull, yes HARD CREDIT PULL) so they can call the activation department to let you through. I have a very good credit score so that didnt end up a nightmare from my end. but YMMV

I did spend $120 out the door, but will be chatting later to get my $80 activation fees off. I saw a couple of SDers able to get those off via chat, will be trying my luck when i get time.

none of the stores in my area will allow the fees to be waived. so if they dont waive it, just port in the lines... No need to lose the deal without the $80, you maybe able to get them back later via chat.
