That would be a sweet deal then. I know I added 4 new lines with TMO thru Costco in July. I summited my rebates for $100 each line that same night. Then I ordered 4 new phones from TMO online by doing a upgrade on those lines. Well anyways those lines qualified for T-mobile current promos because it was done within the 14 day remorse period.

I bought 2 iPhone SE 2020 for $200 off each, a one plus 8 for $350 off and a iPhone 11 for $700 off with eligible port in plus trading in a iPhone 8. So most people on Slickdeals told me I would not get both Promo. Anyways I just checked on rebate status yesterday and I was approved for all 4 rebates and it said mailing date was 9-17. I'm pretty stoked about this deal.

Bought 4 Sims from Corporate store nearby. Debating whether I should activate at the store or online myself. Is there somewhere mentioned that self activation online is not qualified?

Per mY understanding on the terms

Unless it's not activated by some trailer or third part sites you will qualify for the rebate if you activate through T-Mobile directly (in store/over phone/chat/online of your own)

You CANNOT activate/port by yourself. You'll need a rep. My SIMs were already activated with temp numbers at shipping, so there was no charge for porting. If your SIMs are not activated yet, the rep who helps you might charge an activation/assist fee. Look at it this way, an activation/assist fee will reduce your profit, but if you dawdle and can't get the SIMs activated by the end of the day because the reps' phones/chat lines are all tied up, you'll have NO profit and have a loss with the money already spent on the SIMs.

I am hoping to do just this. I ported in an AT&T number to a new line a few days ago, activated it on my BYOD and submitted the rebate form. Today I used the upgrade on that line and ordered a Galaxy S20 FE and traded in my old Galaxy S7. I didn't use this line to get any kind of a new line discount, other than the rebate, so I am hoping that the rebate gets approved and I am just taking advantage of an upgrade deal. My thinking is I would be able to upgrade this line immediately after I get my rebate, so what's the difference between using the upgrade now or later?
I'm trying to do the same thing you did. I ported a line over from AT&T on 9/19 and the BYOD device happened to be an S7Edge. I applied for the $250 rebate already. I heard the rebate is contingent upon porting in the number and bringing your own device which is exactly what I did. So now the ported line becomes an existing line and I want to trade in the S7Edge for the S20FE and get $500 off. The only reason I see why it won't work is if the IMEI of the S7Edge needs to stay on your account until the $250 rebate is approved but I'm not sure if the IMEI has anything to do with the $250 BYOD deal.

If you preorder and did it online, I would wait as long as possible to send in the S7EDGE and keep using it until the deadline to send it in is near in case the rebate is contingent on the IMEI staying on that ported line. That should give you about 30 days total since you submit the $250 rebate.

I'm thinking about going that route and ordering online instead of just trading in the phone in store to keep the IMEI on that line on longer. I don't really care about the $70 Samsung Promo since I already received that on an existing paid line that I used to trade in the S7EDGE and applied the $200 hookup code. So yes I already traded in one S7Edge on a paid existing line but now I want to trade another one in on a ported free line before the $500 promo is over.

ofc i was planning to anyways... but My story was a little sad. I went to the 2nd store they were unable to refund the fees. However, i remember reading a post saying that the activation fees can be credited later on so i didnt mind eventually.

So i talked to a very nice young man from a store who actually opened and ported in all 4 lines for me today. According to him, the 20% promo code dates are very very strict, and he had dealt with their promo team a lot.. because i activated my lines 1 day late(10/1 instead of 9/30), so i will lose the 20% off my megenta plan even i did the steps described in the thread to tie the phone number to my account.

That also means, all the BYOD promo that ends literally today, so everything we shared here after the last store in US closes today will be history...

That also means, if you didnt activate your device today, your 250 BYOD promo will very likely NOT apply

After i knew the 20% promo status is denied, i can see that denied status on the promotion tmobile, com after entering the main phone number on the account. However, i have made an attempt to call in to the prmo center team 877-470-3619 that transferred me over to customer care. I told them that i was supposed to activate yesterday but for some reason getting sprint zombie account issue and it had to do it at store today which causes the delay. The customer care rep created a case and will call me back in 1 week. I do not have much hope for that..

EDIT: I did encountered the zombie account issue today. If anyone still at the store, all they need is your ID(ssn is what the activation guy asked from the phone, and it was a hard credit pull, yes HARD CREDIT PULL) so they can call the activation department to let you through. I have a very good credit score so that didnt end up a nightmare from my end. but YMMV

I did spend $120 out the door, but will be chatting later to get my $80 activation fees off. I saw a couple of SDers able to get those off via chat, will be trying my luck when i get time.
nice post. members and lurkers here will appreciate your input. contribution like that give us helpful data points to help more people.

good to hear you resolved your sprint zombie issues. obviously that made you miss your 20% hookup, but just escalate your case. a technical glitch made you miss the promo. but you had purchased ATT ebay numbers and submitted on time on 9/30. that should count for your case. I think youre fine. just be a nicer version of karen. $1k rebate is worth the work.

also, you should be able to get the $20 waived because of the sprint zombie issues. just keep trying different agents.

none of the stores in my area will allow the fees to be waived. so if they dont waive it, just port in the lines... No need to lose the deal without the $80, you maybe able to get them back later via chat.
yes. thats exactly right. lower profits vs no profits because the deadline is today 10/01.

You said the 20% hookup code date is very strict, how so? Do you need to activate and use the code on the same day?

I am still waiting for the sims which will arrive tomorrow (10/2). The rep told me that as I have already activated 4 lines through the phone and just waiting for the new sims, I can still port in and use the 250 promo code after 10/1, even the promotion expires today. I am not so sure after reading your post.

The $500 off is credit on your line. When promo team checks your eligibility, they can see device credit on your line which means the line is not BYOD. They don't need to track IMEI. It's just my guess.

I am going to call agent for porting and see if they can help. Paid $90 + tax for 3 lines. Planning to port Kid tello number. Going to try apply MIR. What are the chances of getting MIR for tello number? Store guys doesn't even know what is Tello.

Is it good idea to buy another ATT number from ebay and port it with this number instead of using existing tello number?
Quote from rustum :
Thanks for helping me. Going it with ATT number. It is $10 tello plan anyway. Not much savings by moving into Tmobile. Kid can use all these extra lines if needed. Waiting for ATT numbers. Going to Call TM for porting after receiving ATT numbers. is there any trick to get refund of activation fee which I paid at store to get Sim cards?
NO. do not use a sprint MVNO. you will get rejected. but its good to see you had purchased ATT ebay afterwards.

for everyone else, get numbers from ebay. ive used relux. super fast and legit.

i got my type 1 code from reddit thread 1AM esterntime 10/1. And then I activate/ported in all 4 lines on 10/1. Store rep told me my 20% wont apply(based on his experience). And then he called in to the rebate promotion center to ask about both the 20% promo and the BYOD promo.

1. They can see my 20% hookup promo on one of the phone i registered, but the guy from the rebate center said that the promo will not apply. At that time, i think the status has already changed to denied(i confirmed it after my numbers are ported in).

2. They also see the BYOD promos are available and confirm today is last day to get it by activating/porting in the lines. So in your case, since your lines have been activated now, you should be fine. I was able to submit all 4 promo right after porting in the lines. Before i left the store, the guy from the store told me that he's pretty confident the $250 *4 will go through. I can also see and track the status under https://promotions.t-mobile.com/

you do understand that the 20% hookup and the $250 rebate are two different promos and with different end dates right? they also have different terms. are you a new customer who signed up today? when did you port in? from which telecom? im afraid youre about to spend a lot of time fighting for your money. YMMV.

your BYOD should be fine, but i didnt know you had submitted your 20% hookup at 1AM EST on 10/01. thats gonna be a rough one. you can still fight it. originally, i had thought you submitted on 09/30 before 11:59 EST.

these promos never list time zones, but you will often see EST used to track date/time submission. TMO is supposed to use PST, but when you look at various account time stamps and other documents, German time is used due to their HQ origins.

Just activated extra lines. No luck with getting back activation fee paid to the store for purchasing sim cards. Rep asked me to call some other number. Regarding submitting MIR, All 4 can be on same Name and address right?

Thanks

Yeah i dont know about the 20%, not have that much hope there. But the $1000 can keep all my phones run for another 8-9 months which i am very happy about. Every penny counts these days laugh out loudlaugh out loud。 After 9 months, we maybe able to do it again on att or verizon. who knows

Your hookup submission was denied because the Hookup promo already ended on 9/30/20 (per the Reddit info), before you got the code. The BYOP promo, on the other hand, ends today 10/1/20.

Thanks for the information. Submitted MIR.
Everyone should spend the MIR GC as soon as you receive it. Verizon removed money from GC's (VZ gc) when they ran crazy deal with some LG phone.
