That would be a sweet deal then. I know I added 4 new lines with TMO thru Costco in July. I summited my rebates for $100 each line that same night. Then I ordered 4 new phones from TMO online by doing a upgrade on those lines. Well anyways those lines qualified for T-mobile current promos because it was done within the 14 day remorse period.

I bought 2 iPhone SE 2020 for $200 off each, a one plus 8 for $350 off and a iPhone 11 for $700 off with eligible port in plus trading in a iPhone 8. So most people on Slickdeals told me I would not get both Promo. Anyways I just checked on rebate status yesterday and I was approved for all 4 rebates and it said mailing date was 9-17. I'm pretty stoked about this deal.

Does anyone know if the $250 will be good if you finance a phone on this line?
By definition, BYOD means bringing a phone you already owned. When Sprint ran their BYOD promo back in Mar-May this year, they allowed you to buy a new or used phone from them to do the deal, but the phone must be paid in full when purchased.

The terms of the $250 BYOD promo (see attachment) say "May not be combined with some offers or discounts". If T-mo considers upgrading your phone at a favorable price "an offer or discount", your $250 BYOD rebate could be denied.
It speciifically mentions "carrier freedom" as not compatible but "keep and switch" as compatible so you could do keep and switch plus this for total $700.

I still have some ATT numbers for sale for $5 each and I should be able to respond pretty quick.

The terms for "carrier freedom" and "keep and switch" read very similar to me except the dollar amount ($650 vs $450). What else are their differences?

I was thinking to do the iPhone 11 BOGO, but their rep told me the 250 deal is not stackable with any phone deal.

Totally agree. But If I was T-Mobile I would be more concerned with people using this promo to open 4 new lines, grabbing $1k worth of rebates, and cancelling right after the rebates clear. At least anyone that takes advantage of an upgrade with an EIP is probably going to stay with them for 2 years in order to benefit from the phone promo.
I think, that is what TM wants. They want to inflate their subscriber numbers to take number 2 spot by end of the quarter and push up the share price. Just play the game.

Also wondering about this.. is Tmobile going to benefit financially from being able to report "We're #2"? I mean, we know already they are very generous with this rebate offer and they do have to realize some people are going to jump ship the moment they cash in the rebate. They are also in a business of making money (and not giving it away) so .. where is it coming from?

Eventually they have to make money. Becoming number 2 is a pretty big achievement. It will bring in more customers. It could be big bonus milestone for top management. Market loves it. All these numbers are counted for ATT until now.

for carrier freedom, you have to trade-in the device that you paid off

is it better to insert sim into phones and make sure it registers with TM. What are the downside of doing this?

I received a total of $2,600 for 4 phones. $250 per phone for switching and $400 per phone to pay them off. Sweet deal. Plus I also receive the 20% off insider promo.
