I have the 630cfm version from the $175 trimmer kit. It's amazing on turbo mode. I wouldn't buy this for $200 though.

I've been waiting for Home Depot to clearance these out (no luck yet) they have a yellow clearance sticker but still $299. I went ahead and put an order in, I can always cancel before it ships if HD winds up lowering their prices on remaining stock.
All things EGO are dwindling around me at HD with really pathetic clearance prices. The string trimmers are 20 dollars off full price for example. This blower like you said is 299 but it was 299 before clearance. I don't have much hope for the big EGO blowout prices at HD. Their stock is really low and they just don't seem very aggressive on cutting prices. Tried to talk them into a display item the other day (missing the charger and the battery) and was told they'd rather send it back to EGO for full price.

I bought the ego blower mainly to dry cars and the trimmer to replace my gas trimmer. After a few months battery life has diminished. Batteries are expensive therefore went back to the gas trimmer.

You can get a competitor item for half right now with clearance/sales going on. 250 is way too high.

Not for similar performance and battery life. I'm hoping the Kobalt 140 MPH 80-Volt 2.5ah blower goes down to $150 at my closest store. I agree that $250 is pricey for a blower but its not bad for what you're getting. My gas blower is on its last leg and I bought a $180 echo gas blower to replace it and I had nothing but trouble and returned it. To get gas-like performance out of a battery isn't cheap.

If you can point me to anything similar for $125 that's actually available, not some clearance price in a few stores in no man's land, I'll take it.

I have this 650cfm blower. I paid the full $299 MSRP for it from Home Depot back in March as the start of the mowing season. I could have bought the less powerful 580cfm model for $70 less.. but knew I wanted the most powerful cordless unit so I paid extra for it. And not a single regret.. everytime I use this thing Im amazed by the power, satisfied with the results and just plain out have a good bit of fun because its just ridiculous for my needs.

My previous blower was only 400cfm.. so this was quite an upgrade. This feels 10x as powerful as my old blower. In fact I'd describe my old blower.. as a leaf sweeper.. it works about as well as broom. This 650cfm unit is truly a blower and just as powerful as the gas handheld units.

Finally seeing it go on sale.. Im also incredibly glad I went ahead and bought it at the beginning of the year instead of waiting all year long (until almost October) for it go on sale and save just $50. In retrospect it was well worth paying the full asking price ($50 more) to be able to use this entire spring, summer & fall.

And it will be half as powerful.. with half the battery life.

Good luck with that!

Since there are only 9 reviews on Amazon you may want to check out the reviews on Lowes:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/EGO-Powe...1003130708

1,265 out of 1,453 gave it 5 stars.
Lowe's must have just started selling them. How can ther be that many reviews already?

3 year review

The newer ones are a lot more powerful and even more efficient, one reason why this brand is growing so quickly.

When I got mine, I watched a lot of youtube videos about various brands.. this one guy went to the extreme by buying every brand on the market and the EGO won out in almost every category from overall blow power to battery life aka efficiency. I think it lives up to all of that hype. One of the biggest challenges is to blow soaking wet oak leaves and pine needles which it does both very well (just blew both the other day at the same time! yes, multi-talented indeed!). The only thing you have to keep in mind with all blowers from all brands is no matter what they sell you on, they do have a limited battery life before you need a recharge. Blowers is actually one of the hardest common tools to conquer when it comes to batteries, they need a lot of energy.

What I did is I got their chainsaw too that year so I could have two batteries. As a result, due to extremely excellent charge times, I'm able to go endlessly with my EGO tools just on two batteries alone, including the blower!

I've changed so many minds including guys in their 70's not keen on change that absolutely are wanting battery operated tools now.. EGO's chainsaw has impressed the neighbors the most by far I think.. I've cut down 10+ trees with their smallest chainsaw and have cut into some pretty thick wet oak logs too. When they've come up to talk about it, I always say "here, feel how light it is" and they are always like WOW! because they see from a distance I just cut up a bunch of trees yet its so light and no gas, no gas lines, etc to deal with.

If I were to be a fanboy of any powertool brand, its hands down EGO. I'm so glad that they are hellbent on perfecting their existing tools instead of trying to have 50 new products in their battery eco system every year like so many of these other brands. They are American too.. I know many hail the Chinese these days as our lords and saviors but for the few that dont.. it might help that our own peeps are designing this stuff and hiring American engineers to do so that directly support our local communities and not the CCP.
Sorry to break it to you. Ego is Chinese owned.
