I bought a bunch for gifts last year that how impressed I was.
For my face this works best every other day at most. It's not great for shaving every day and I don't think that's the expected use of this. An electric foil shaver works best for that type of maintenance. I can't use an electric often or I get shave bumps and irritated skin, same goes for blade shaving. I wouldn't attempt to use this for trimming, I don't see a reason to use this over a clippers for body hair and such.
I would rate the smoothness of the shave to be compared to 1/2 day after blade shaving. Feels smooth in one direction but not against the grain.
