$12 Thermacell Radius Zone Mosquito Repellent: In Store Only Clearance at Home Depot: YMMV

Found a great deal on the Thermacell Radius Zone Mosquito Repellent at my local Home Depot. $12...was $49.97. This is a clearance item so YMMV. The radius comes with an 18 hour refill and is no spray, scent free and rechargeable. It was on a rear end-cap with other outdoor repellents, sprays and bug zappers.

The Thermacell with the pads works great...not sure how well these work, but would assume it's good, based on brand.

Sounds awesome, but note that refills are about $20 for a 40 hour refill.

Seems a bit like inkjet printer loss leaders.

I will second that the handheld thermacell with the pads does work well for repelling, and it doesn't smell bad. It's also fun to carry around a device with an open flame, but that's something to keep in mind with little kids. It never really gets hot enough to burn you though. If this uses the same chemical it should be effective as well.
