I wish this was Zen 2 silicone. It would be a great recommendation for people needing a good mini workhorse pc.

The Asrock x300s are coming soon— will support up to the 4700 APU's. Would hold out for those.

My guess is that it performs similar to the Ryzen 3 2200GE.

No. It's soldered to the motherboard. There's no socket for you to replace it with

M90n lenovo is down to $380. Similar small form factor, comes with RAM and SSD (and windows?) which you would need to buy with this one.

I've looked at these barebone systems and the value proposition never works on them. Performance/customization will always limited because of no GPU and limited power supply, and you can buy used micro form factor Optiplex/workstations for ~$200 that will have the same strengths/weaknesses.

Am I missing something? RAM isn't soldered, but RAM isn't gonna be the bottleneck on this thing.

These are low power systems not meant for workstation use. They don't really compete for the same market

Digital display, small surface deployments. At my church we run kids check in stations, all they need is a touch screen. Rather than an all in one, we can use these strapped to the bottom of the table to provide what we need, which is just a browser and some automation.

Right but I guess my question is what is the intended use for this? Too expensive for browsing/HTPC/work/school, but not nearly as powerful/customizable as a full PC build. You could build a much more powerful full build for the same price, or buy a comparable laptop for similar price or used form factor workstation for much less. At minimum this will cost you another $60 for RAM, SSD and Windows.
