For everyone who keeps questioning the warranty information:

The boxes in the warehouse have an additional packet of warranty information attached to the boxes. (At least they do here locally.)

So even though the box is printed with a 3-year warranty on it, the additional information explains the extension of the 3 year warranty to 5 years.

(And yes, if you use the Costco Visa credit card, that tacks on an additional 2 years, making it 7 years total.)

Hope this helps clarify things a bit...

Sony's pushing it as part of their "PS5 Ready" series and is actually one of the few TV's capable of gaming 4K at 120 Frames...however this tv will not do it out the box until a firmware update Sony has yet to push. It's assumed they'll do it closer to PS5 launch Source: https://www.techradar.com/news/sony-ps5-ready-tv

I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

I was just in Best Buy and talked to some very helpful employees. They told me the 65" 900H will go down to $999 (maybe $969) on September 30 so you should be able to get a refund on the difference directly from them. They said it was a Sony thing on the 65" and not just a Costco special.
Anyone with insider source (Costco/BB/Sony etc) know if the 75" will be marked down similarly before BF? Don't know if I should pull the trigger for $1970 from Costco. the price expires on 10/4...

I thinking of a Sony TV because the last two other "top tier" brands I have had died just after the 5 year extended warranty. I will only use an external Roku Ultra and my OTA DVR for my content and my surround system for sound. What would I gain in picture quality with this TV and the way I am going to provide content to it, over the budget brands like and Hisenese and others in the under $400 for a 65"?

I asked this since this is now sort of a discussion thread while waiting for the sale to start. Also, did anyone get one of the deal of the day X900F today?

But is the banding issue real? From his video it seems like the 900h has it and the 900e does not. Genuinely curious why you think he's not a good source.

I'm contemplating the Costco 900h deal or taking an hour drive for a 65" 900e for $400 cash.

Sony is just as likely to die right after the 5 year warranty. I would say cheaper brands just die sooner while warranty is still valid,

If I buy the tv now and return to get difference reimbursed. Do I get the 5 year warranty? On the product page it shows 3 years. I wonder If I can do a return and rebuy for 5 years. This deal seems very hot. I wont be able to grab it right away on Wednesday and dont want them to sell out.

Another warranty comment/question:

Clearly the ad states 5 year warranty (TV box says 3 years). Earlier this month Costco had some Samsungs advertised with the extra 2 year square trade warranty built into the price. Seems to me it's a good possibility this is a similar deal and we could possibly add 2 more years with the Costco Citi card bringing the warranty up to 7 years. If the $970 price includes the square trade warranty this price seems great.

If this is the case I don't know if a price match would also add the square trade warranty (if that's how this deal works). I'd love to go buy one now, but with all these questions I'll just wait until Wednesday.

Same pondering here too. I want to pull the trigger so hard to join the 4K revolution but am afraid this TV will sell out, but 7 year warranty would be phenomenal too. What time does costco.com update sale prices on their website? I feel like it's another PS5/XSX preorder fiasco type event.

This is amazing news, I have had my eye on this TV for months now

I'm gonna ask my best friend to put it on her Costco Citi card

Would the extended warranty be under her name or mine?
I would imagine it would be the card holders name. That is the person who would call in for warranty repairs.

This is a mid-tier TV at a very good price. Highly doubt it's anything like the PS5 pre order nonsense. I try not to let FOMO drive decisions. If there's still stock Wednesday (there will be) great. If not, there will be more TV deals in the coming weeks/months.

I used my 40 off 250 coupon last week but decided to return the item. Now it's not working because it's a one-time use only. Will Costco give me another one given that I returned the item I used that one with? I'm hoping to use it on this and get a price adjustment.
How did you get the coupon? I have not seen Costco giving away coupons in a long time now.

If it's in the bedroom U can just place it on top of a old tv box that's what I did for the Hisense H9F I got last year cause my stand wasn't wide enough the legs would go over the sides. I'm using my Sony 43" 800d box.
It's in the living room on a corner stand that I don't want to change. So looks like I'm out of luck. Might wait til the Samsung 80T goes on sale, since that has the center leg/stand vs the wide legs on the X900H.

It was with the Groupon signup deal. Looks like I'm out of luck - Groupon said once you used it you're out of luck regardless of cancellation. Ah well.

Oh OK. Anyway I think it's a really good deal so do not just hold back due to that coupon. I have decided to go for 75" version, otherwise I would have ordered one by now to get it price matched later.
