I have a question to ask, I bought this tv back in July for $1300+ --- Seeing that I will be saving about $400 with this sale price, I am super torn at this point. The tv was mounted on the wall so taking it down and returning it is out of the question. Can I purchase this tv (2nd one) at its sale price and then initiate a return for the 1st tv? Of course, my plan is to send back the 2nd tv in replacement of the 1st one.

Yep, another return question..... I picked up the LG 65UN8500AUJ from Costco on August 30th for $700 with a 7 year warranty. I'm quite pleased with the picture. Honestly, this is the nicest TV I have ever owned. Should I/Would you return it and grab this one for $270 more? TIA

I mean you bought this way back in July. So you've enjoyed this TV for about 2 months while others patiently waited. Maybe just go to Costco and see if they will price adjust without all the hassles of returning. Cause you returning will just cause your TV to get sent back to Sony and they will then have to sell it as refurbished and then reship it somewhere else to sell. The carbon footprint of all this is huge.

Go to rtings and compare both TVs and make your choice. But if you like your LG, why make it an issue. Enjoy it.

There's nothing posted about the LG yet..... =/ Not many reviews either. It's a new TV from LG this year. So I kinda have to go with what the masses suggest, and their thoughts.

This TV at this price is the best TV you can get.
I bought it two weeks ago at the $1169 price at Costco and thought I got a great deal.. looking forward to the price adjustment

I totally get it that others have waited patiently for this deal. Though it sucks that I bought this tv at its original price, only for the price to drop $100 a week later (I got a price adjustment) ... and then an additional $100 three weeks later (Costco did not want to give me 2 price adjustments). Seeing the same tv for $969 ($400 less with extended warranty) is a slap in the face considering that I paid an additional $99 for the Square trade warranty. So in total, I paid about $500 more just for buying the tv at what I thought was a decent deal.

Don't get me wrong, I totally feel you on the saving money part. I'm kind of in the same boat with the 75" except I got it from Greentoe. If Costco decides to blow those out. I'd be upset too. But I just got it last week. If 2-3 months later, it's a few hundred less. I got to enjoy it during that time and would feel it was worth it. I'm sure you used your tv for many hours already?

You have 90 days to return so what people usually do go and buy a new one and return that new one using the old July receipt if you have the receipt and of it is difficult to pack the old one .. But the price match is only 30 days so this is the solution. Hope this helps🙏🙏🙏

and do what with that membership? I totally get your logic but I dont live close enough to shop at Costco and this was the only time I've ever purchased anything from there.

Buying it from Costco was still cheaper then purchasing it from anywhere else and adding an extending warranty.

Lol. They'll sell it as open box/return. They only return to vendor if it's broken.

The 90CH model from Costco does indeed come with a 3 year manufacturer warranty from Sony. It's on the product box itself, and the Sony warranty insert/flier in the box also shows 3 years. The 900H model that other retailers sale only has a 1 year manufacturer warranty, and that is the model that shows on the Sony site. If you search for X90CH, it takes you to the X900H product page, which makes sense, since it's effectively the same TV. This was the main reason why I ended up buying this TV from Costco instead of Best Buy.

If you use the Costco Visa card to purchase the TV, you then get an extra 2 years of non manufacturer warranty coverage through Citi/Costco on top, for a total of 5 years.

I'm really curious to see what the 5 years reported in the upcoming ad actually means. It seems unlikely to me that Sony would be throwing in another 2 years on top of the 3 they are already offering. On the other hand, the ad does say "5 year manufacturer warranty". I would think if the added two years was from like a Square trade warranty, it would state that on the ad. I'm optimistically hopeful that it might mean a 5 year Sony warranty, and then another 2 on top of using the Costco Visa for a total of 7 years.

You might want to wait until 2022 when the price really goes down to try to get a price adjustment
