Requires a new line kinda kills the deal
New line is one promotion - Phone for free.
No line is a different promotion, as I listed above.
The link says at the top says a new line is needed, but according to T-Force and also from the text that is given when you actually click the link that this is not required to do the trade-in for $500 off.

The text is deceptive and it's been reported to their marketing team for clean up. I don't blame anyone for not wanting to go through yet another new line offer these days.

1. It's not a flat discount that you can get for no work
2. It's only for T-Mobile customers and these devices will be locked to T-Mobile
3. Bill credits/payments over time are a game that not everyone is interested in
4. Not an iPhone
5. No HDMI

But this isn't exclusive, doesn't require finding a Wal-mart rep to go hunt down clearance items for you, and should be an easy way for folks to get one of the newest phones on the market if they qualify.

Unlocked phones work for promo or does it have to be a TMobile variant? Like would an unlocked Samsung S7 edge qualify?

And thanks for all the help

Jamn100

Thanks you for all the answers to this awesome deal so far.

I do have a question that's not been covered yet on the trade-in process, will it be in store or online only? I read a lot of posts on the % rate of in store vs online trade-in for phones with screen burn in. TIA

T-Mobile locked until payed off, just like all other EIP devices. If you decided to pay for the phone after starting EIP it would qualify to be unlocked and used on other carriers. Verizon's UW 5G probably requires hardware unique to them, if that's part of your decision making.
