Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

How would you do in store, if phone won't be available till 10/2?

A wiki on a previous t-mobile trade-in promo post went into detail on this. In essence, you don't get the new phone right away in this store visit-- it's just to get paperwork done and get a shipping label for the trade-in. Here's some excerpts:
  • Go to a local T-mobile corporate store (not a licensed dealer/small biz retailer)
  • The store rep will evaluate and approve/disapprove your trade-in. However, you will *not* relinquish your trade-in yet. If the rep approves, you'll sign paperwork for an Equipment Installment Plan ("EIP"). You should see your phone assessed at some abysmal value on the paperwork - this is okay (if you traded in a cheap phone). The phone trade-in amount is included
  • Going to a T-Mo store is important if your trade-in could be deemed questionable. You don't want to risk a trade-in that gets rejected after signing paperwork and mailing the trade-in to Assurant (trade-in processor).
  • That should wrap up the in-store aspect. You need to print your trade-in shipping label if the T-Mo rep didn't provide one at the store. The label can be found by following the link you were e-mailed while signing the paperwork earlier: https://my.t-mobile.com/myphone/checkorder.html
  • Print the label, package up up your trade-in, and mail it in.
  • This label includes your trade-in receipt that should state the IMEI/ESN, trade-in item type, and the previously assessed condition.

Is there a limit on how many equipment promotional credits an account can have?

I am on an One plan with 8 voice lines. I seem to remember seeing something about a 4 promotional credit limit, but I can't find any reference to that.

Thanks.

See how to save $500 when you add a line & trade in an eligible device.

Add a line? No deal for me. OP Please update
If you just read the first two post, OP and #2.

Also, you would think why the post would get so many thumbs if OP was wrong.

This doesn't require getting a line. Am I out of luck if I am on a T-Mobile pre-paid plan, and why?
Replying to myself here after asking a T-Mobile rep. EIP is available to postpaid customers only. Not only that, I can't transfer my prepaid account balance over.

Not worth leaving my $30 walmart plan Frown

Hard to know which are corporate stores...Just because the store looks like a T-Mobile store does not mean it's a corporate one...

Thanks, how would $200 5G devices work with insiders discount if device is purchased on EPP? Is that $200 bill credit?
Quote from PaulCollins :
I have not had a credit check when I've been doing this, but that will likely be up to how much T-Mobile thinks you are good for back when they setup the account originally and looked at your credit at that time.

Very true, you can weed out the authorized retailers through the tmo store locator:https://www.t-mobile.com/store-lo...s-by-state

What's the risk of going to a T-Mobile partner store they look feel and smell like the corporate stores.
