Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

Is simple choice plan included ?
I'd ask T-Force to be safe. Pissed me off ours was exempted. She said there's too many plans exempted to put them all in the terms. Don't know how true that is.

This is strange.

When I click on that link in incognito mode, it shows "See how to get one FREE when you activate a new line."

When I click on that link but NOT in incognito mode, it shows "See how to save $500 when you trade in an eligible device."

So are these 2 different promos, and a consumer can pick whichever one they prefer?

Just a quick FYI. Apparently certain plans are not allowed to recieve the $500 discount. I am on an old Select Choice plan and was told I don't qualify. I didn't even know till I reached out to T-Force to validate that it looked right on their end.

If you're on an old plan, you may want to ask! Not sure what's not qualified since the rep told me that the term "service" in the full terms was where I'm exempted.

This is the line in the terms where it's a vague disqualification. Qualifying credit, service, & trade-in
You sure about that?

Which rate plans qualify for this promo?
All rate plans are eligible except Value Essentials.

It says that right on the promo page.

No, you need to get the IMEI of the phone you're trading in.

How can you reserve the code? I guess you meant, pre-register, so no one else can use that code.

Quote from ec.auction :
Confirmed that after placing the order, i can then "reserved" the code on the number that will use this new phone.

Can anyone confirm on the following. I went into the second link (the 500$ off) and when you read the "got questions" sections, there are parts that say "Save $500" and others that say "To save up to $500". There's even a link to estimate the value of the trade in wjere a galaxy S7 is said to be worth 37$, not even close to the stated 500$. Can anyone confirm on this?
Chat rep on app confirmed the 37 is earned trade in value. The remainder of the 500 is basically only paid if you stay the whole time. Good thing though is if you want to bail after a year and a half you only lose the 6 months of credits not that i would do that.

Any idea, if this can be reserved, so no one else can use it? Also, is there a way to know, if code is TYPE 1, TYPE 2, or TYPE 3?
Quote from chillair :
Thanks for confirming this! Have you indeed reserved the code? When you check here, https://insider.t-mobile.com/lookup, does it say the code has been used?

Is it on the page that you enter credit card info? Some people mentioned earlier that you need to manually put in the dash (xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx) in the credit card number for it to work.
Quote from JediWolverine :
For those who are worried about not being able to use the Type 3 code when the phone arrives, why not just opt for the regular S20 instead if you don't mind the slightly smaller curved screen and battery?
And it costs $200 more...

Only 1 EIP per account but if you paid off a EIP you still receive the promo credits from the line. You can then add another EIP per that line and promo with it. I have still a promo from the 3a on my line and another from the se on the same line. The se is on the EIP 3a i paid off early. Then I just have to pay the se off and still get the promo for the 3a and se and this new FE.
Can you provide a little more information on this? Let's say you get this S20 FE as a new line, which makes the phone free after credits. So $30-$30 credit.

What part are you exactly paying off from the full $700 if you decide to get the S21 in March with credits attached on the same line?

Just going off what T-Force told me. There's no specific exclusion in the Terms.

I'm just trying to make sure no one ends up screwed because of the lack of info in the terms. I actually placed the order and just asked T-Force to validate it since there was a trade involved.
