Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

You can swap the phone/hardware as you wish, however, promo would not move with device, it will stay with the line/phone number.
Thanks!

1 EIP per account or line? I have no EIP on my account. Purchased this S20 FE on one line. Any idea, if I can get same $500 OFF promo on other line if I do trade-in?
Quote from BJFISHY :
Only 1 EIP per account but if you paid off a EIP you still receive the promo credits from the line. You can then add another EIP per that line and promo with it. I have still a promo from the 3a on my line and another from the se on the same line. The se is on the EIP 3a i paid off early. Then I just have to pay the se off and still get the promo for the 3a and se and this new FE.

I'm wondering if we can pre-order now in-store and trade the phone in now directly to the store (corporate stores only, I think?). Ever since Samsung denied a trade, I don't trust sending it in with the chance it gets rejected. If you give it to the store and they accept, you're free and clear I think.
Just asked. They said you can do the preorder and trade in store but the insider code would be separate and once you get phone you input to register the $200 off

LOL... I waited awhile for a SD'er to respond to me too... then realized I can call the store myself.

I was also told yes on pre-order in-store.. and that I can turn my phone in on the spot (early) or after it gets in.

Now only if I can get the Type 3 code to get $200 off... (anyone?) Wave

Same here. What plan are you on? If you're on one of the older plans and grandfathered in, you maybe SOL.
Magenta 4 lines for $140.

I asked the guy who answered the phone and said he used his. I think each gets 3 codes but that seems super low. There must be a generator for the codes. I tried Reddit and here. Best of luck to both of us!

He did say you can buy and just keep looking before the 30th deadline to register the code to the phone

Yeah waiting on a type 3 code.

Also is it confirmed you can pre-order online and process the trade in at a store?

Please don't get mad. My S8 works great but has a tiny 1/4 inch hairline crack on one of the edges. You can only see it if you look closely and feel it when you run your fingernail around area. Do they scrutinize th trade ins. If I recall, they just recycle older phone and don't resell them.
Just stop by at a store and try to do trade-in in person

Is the trade in still going to be $500 value if the device is cracked? Have an S8 that works fine (turns on, everything is functional) but the screen is cracked...
You can trade in directly with samsung but the difference looks like it's 150 more

Sorry... too many pages after it went live.
So to confirm....
1. You can trade in WITHOUT starting a new line?
2. When do you have to trade it in?
3. When do you get the S20 FE?
4. Can they waive the activation fee?
5. Only 1 S20 FE per account? or more? I have 4 lines on SIMPLE CHOICE. 4for$100
6. Is SIMPLE CHOICE 4for100 qualify?

Thanks!

As I read it you are probabaly using a bad code. I got the same error. Called and they confirmed the code was not valid.

Call and ask, wait time was like 3 minutes

I think you can chat with TForce to get it? Or is it something existing customers have to do? Sorry, been with T-Mobile for the past 13 years but haven't got inside hookup ever nod

You have to preorder the phone first. The number you enter on that page needs to have a EIP on a 5G device to be eligible.
