Based on the information from this thread and another community, I created a guide so that more people can hopefully navigate this deal easier and so questions won't be continuously repeated.

Because this will be a living document, I created a Google Doc for ease of updates: https://docs.google.com/document/...sp=sharing

Note: I am not a T-Mobile employee and this is my first-time doing a trade-in with a Hookup code, so I am learning alongside most people here; thus, my guide may not be fully accurate. Feel free to make suggestions for corrections if you notice any mistakes or parts that lack clarity. And if you found my guide helpful, please post a response here just so I know and will continue doing these. Thank you.

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

Since this involves a trade-in, just want to remind folks that you can trade-in in person at a T-mobile corporate location and by doing so, avoid any surprises from mailing in your device

Starting 9/25 get a Galaxy S20 FE 5G for just $200 over 24 months via bill credits when you trade in an eligible device:

Apple: iPhone 11, XS Series, XR, X, 8 Series, iPhone 7 series
Samsung: Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note10 series, Galaxy S9 series, Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S8 series, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 series
Google: Pixel 4/4XL, Pixel 3A/3AXL, 3/3XL
OnePlus: 8, 8 Pro, 7T Pro McLaren, 7T, 7, 7 Pro, 6, 6T
LG: V60 ThinQ, G8 ThinQ, G7 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V40 ThinQ

Or get one free via bill credits when you add a line.

THIS STACKS WITH THE $200 HOOKUP CODE! Remember, only one Insider Hookup code per account, whether it's the 20% or the $200. See here for details on that promo. Please do not ask for hookup codes in this post.

Please note: This WILL NOT stack with the free line. The free line ends 9/24, and this phone promo begins 9/25. There is NO WAY to get this phone for free using the free line. Please don't bother support trying to do it.

https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...-s20-fe-5g

Click the magenta text at the top of the page to see the offer for $500 off. Must be logged in to see the offer. To see the "free with add a line" offer, open in incognito. Please note the $500 off page currently says "when you add a line and trade in" but the adding a line part is a typo and not necessary.

1. Download and install the Shop Samsung app on your eligible Galaxy device from the Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store.
2. Open the Shop Samsung app and tap the "Menu Icon" on top left > select "My Inbox" > S20 FE 5G Pre-order Offer > tap SEE IF I'M ELIGIBLE for this offer.
3. Scan your device IMEI barcode from your eligible Galaxy device retail box OR copy and paste it from your device.
How to scan your retail box:
Tap ALLOW, when prompted, to allow Shop Samsung app to take pictures and record video.
Align your eligible Galaxy device retail box barcode inside the viewfinder to scan your box. If unsuccessful, tap TRY AGAIN or tap FIND DEVICE IMEI to copy and paste your IMEI.
How to copy and paste your IMEI:
Tap FIND DEVICE IMEI or go to Settings > About phone, then tap and hold your IMEI Number to copy it to your clipboard.
Once copied, tap the back button at the bottom of your phone to come back to the Shop Samsung app and paste your IMEI into the IMEI field. You can also come back to the Shop Samsung app by tapping the "Menu Icon" on top left > select "My Inbox" > paste your IMEI into the IMEI field.

4. Once your IMEI has been scanned or copied, tap VERIFY.
5. If you are eligible and not signed into your Samsung Account on your device, you will be prompted to sign in or create an account to register for the offer.
6. Fill out the required information, tap SUBMIT and if prompted, upload receipt/proof of pre-order with your pre-order date visible by 11:59:59 PM ET on November 1, 2020.

Yah thats the exception to my math. If you are embedded within tmobile with a family plan or just multiple lines, you'll get a great deal on this. I'm in my 20's so too old to be on my parents plan but not trusting enough to have friends/gf pay for their portion of the bill on a consistent basis.
Not sure why you say you're too old for your parents' plan. I am with my parents and pay $121 after taxes for 4 lines at t-mobile on a grandfathered simple choice plan. Granted they are on my plan and I am paying for them but it's the least I can do for them raising me. Do they not want you on their plan or something?

What would be my best option for getting a new phone on the military plan. I do have a iphone 8 to trade in but I do plan to add a line so wasn't sure if this deal is the best or if i can do a add a line deal that's better. I can also go to Costco if needed

Hi, i am on 55+ plan too, do u think it is also qualify for the trade in for $500 off and a hook up 3 code? Do you know if hook up type 3 code work for 55+ plan, too? Thanks!
Confirmed the pre-order and $500 off works for 55 plan (on it). I'm assuming the type 3 code works as well... I got the code directly from a T-Force member who gave it to me after looking at my account.

Interesting, i have my s8 ...very tiny hair-like crack at the left bottom screen. It was bought directly from samsung.com. where and how are you trading it?
Go visit samsung site and look for the s20 FE. When you select the phone there's a trade in offers. One for a non damaged trade in and one for cracked screen. Select cracked screen and it will give you a new lower offer amount. Mine was only 50 bucks less than non cracked screen for my s10.

Can you provide a little more information on this? Let's say you get this S20 FE as a new line, which makes the phone free after credits. So $30-$30 credit.

What part are you exactly paying off from the full $700 if you decide to get the S21 in March with credits attached on the same line?
What makes it "free" is the credits they are giving you every month but they are still putting the full $700 on EIP(credit) so in march of 21 just pay the remainder of the $700 off so maybe $550 around then. Its under your Equipment installment plans located at the bottom of your bill when signed in. Scroll to the bottom.

No, you dont have to use it, you can just trade it in. You have to enter the IMEI of the trade in phone for your pre-order online, I think thats just what it means.
I've never bought a used phone, where is the best place to pick up an eligible used phone for this offer that will provide the IMEI during/after purchase with quick shipping?

Also, these sites seem to rate phones as fair/good/excellent, will a rating of fair be sufficient for this promo

You must be ethnic. In the US, its considered strange to live with your parents as an adult or be integrated into their phone plans. Also, they are proud and don't want others to pay for their services.
Wait you are equating living with your parents with being on the same phone plan? I think this is your own fabrication. Don't generalize it to all of US haha

Trading in a Pixel 3 for this seems worth it. Anyone disagree?
I'd pay $50 up front (tax/shipping) and then get $500 back for the Pixel 3 at trade in.
Monthly EIP adds up to $700 over 2 years
So net cost = $250.00
And also get $70 to spend on Samsung.com

Seems like a no brainer, but I like my Pixel 3 and the S20FE is a much larger device.

I don't know what any of this hookup stuff is, but I'm on a Simple Choice plan that's maxed out on total number of lines.

Yes, I'd prefer to do this at Costco if they run the same promo, but there's no guarantee that's going to happen, right?

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on whether or not I should do this deal.

When? Source?

Costco used to be good and matched Tmobile offers with GC instead of monthly credit. Not anymore.
