Using a Shield for downstairs and want a cheaper option for the bedroom TV. Its either this or a Firestick 4K.

I'm leaning towards this but waiting to see how easy it is to load Kodi and sideload apps.

If anyone gets one please report

I didn't think sideloading worked on chromecast?

Firestick works awesome. Plus you can install android apps.

Yeah I agree. But I got lots of Google stuff (speakers, Google wifi, watches etc) so I would prefer stay in the ecosystem. Unless this new Chromecast is locked down from sideloading which I doubt. I'd like confirmation tho.

Damn that's perfect. If that's the case I'd buy it day one. I'd love to be able to have a proper replacement for firestick 4k.

Not saying firestick 4k is bad but there's few apps that is just not working properly even when sideloading it. Like Xfinity.
