The only thing is that this does not have a webcam which is a deal breaker for Zoom'ers

Is this basically a larger G14 with an extra M.2 slot?

Wish it had a full 2060, although I wonder if it supports Max-Q Dynamic Boost [youtube.com]

Here's OWNorDisown's review [youtube.com]

This seems to be the normal price for this... I wonder if this means lower pricing for RTX 2060 based systems, and if so, what Black Friday deals will be like on systems like this. Nearly identical to a version that has been on clearance from Best Buy that was $1700 new and still selling as open box for more than this one. Only difference is 1TB SSD and i7-9750 instead of Ryzen 7, which is actually an improvement. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus...Id=6338248

This is not a normal price; that is around $1300 or higher. Check any other sites. You are confusing this one with the one with 45% NTSC 144 Hz panel with over 20 ms response time, same display present in the TUF A15 model.

How does this compare to the Eluktronics RP-17? It seems to have the same basic specs for essentially the same price.
The RP-17 has a Webcam, and I believe the screen has a better color gamut. But this one has higher refresh rate and probably ships sooner.

Did I miss anything?

Edit: as the next poster commented, this has soldered RAM whereas the RP-17 has two slots.

WHY solder the ram??? This mfg saved jack doing that.. all they did was screw themselves out of a customer by including a deal breaker!!

This looks better than the Omen 15 4800H.

This is a really good deal. Do know that the thermals are not so good as other Ryzen laptop. But its a thin and light which a lot of people prefer.

With the release of the new cards, when supply catches up to demand, dont we expect laptops to drop in price with the current cards?

Regarding Display quality, your idea is wrong. This one has a far superior display, both for gaming and content creation. This is a 3 ms response time 240 Hz display vs 9 ms 144 Hz in RP-17 and RP-15. Also, this is a factory calibrated display and certified by Pantone for professional work.
Another advantage this model has is the bigger battery which offers at least 2 hours more battery life over RP-17 for normal day to day usage.
On the other had, RP-17 has better cooling solution than this.

Is it crazy to hope/expect most 15"+ laptop keyboards would have a numpad? I tend to miss it when I don't have it

I second this question - do any of the tech guys know why an OEM would do this? I always wondered myself. I'm a huge fan of the G14...but i would think that if you can wait for Black Friday, there's probably some deals to be had that are better...esp given the Ampere cards debuting

This is slightly larger version of the G14. My Zephyrus G14 has the Ryzen 9 and 1TB SSD which retails for $1450 but purchased and open box for $1230 from Best Buy. I ended up returning the G14 due to the ghosting I was experiencing with the ultra high response time giving me a headache. Asus shouldn't call it gaming anything with slow response times like this.

Having said that, the G15 supposedly has a 3ms response @ 240hz refresh which should be great. But, the 2060 Max-q will not hit 240hz for many FPS games. Probably CS:GO and maybe Overwatch. I still prefer the 14" for portability.

Have I been living under a rock? I have never heard of Eluktronics until this fellow forum member started asking about them.
