I wouldn't go ahead with this purchase for few reasons. 1 new ryzen CPU is gonna be out in few days, it might be better performing, cheaper, or not. We will have to wait to find out.
2 prime day sale is also close just few days away.
3 Black Friday is is not that far away. There might be better deal on prime day, or black Friday.

Before anyone accuses me of being and fanboy, let me say this I have never owned any AMD product, every desktop and laptop that I ever own always had Intel CPU. And lastly my loyalty, isn't with any brand. My loyalty is only on my wallet.

I wish that was true but: pc/pc components are flying off of the shelves these days people havr no place to go to. Everyone is working/studying from home. Retailers have no trouble selling which is why you havent seen as many sales lately. Ongoing pandemic and worsening us/china tension are disrupting supply chain until vietnam or india can pick up on the demand. US china sanctions would mostly cut demand for chips and chip makers are likely to increase their prices to recup the costs.

Not to mention pent up consumer demand from months of staying home would most likely drive holiday demand

This is the way. I'm planning a new 4k gaming build. BF and Prime incoming, I can wait. Not like I can find a 3080 if I wanted lol. Take the time to find better deals and save some cash!

Plus give them some time to work out the capacitor issue with the 3k series.

I would rather get this setup [youtube.com], cost less and it's much faster.

Wow, that is a classic setup

Ya that's disappointing to read about. I wasn't planning to get one on launch day, but feels bad for all going through it. So far, seems like FE and Asus TUF are the optimal ones to look at. But time will tell.

Ugh. Paid $20 more for this combo only 3 days ago. Anyone think Newegg will price adjust?

I have exactly same configuration like this, IMO the mobo is well worth $150 for all the features and build quality, it's just the CPU really underwhelming and power hungry. It's should be $290 msrp to complete with Ryzen in the first place. Not to mention new Zen 3 announcements just 1 week away and you can't buy new gen Graphics card for at least 1-2 months due to high demands.
