I have this exact model from Costco in my basement. It's been great as everyone mentioned but some information and suggestions for other potential buyers.

1. Weight - This thing is as heavy as you'd expect. It comes on a pallet with three large boxes and a bunch of boxes full of weights. You might be able to move the pieces by yourself but really should be at least two people. It took 4-5 hours to get fully put together.
2. It comes with more resistance that i expected. I debated on ordering additional weight from the manufacturer Day 1 but glad I didn't.
3. Motion - Smoother than i expected. The cable move really smoothly for a non-commercial piece of equipment. For tricep pushdowns it is a little short but it's doable and there many alternatives.
4. Bench - For me, it is basically garbage. It's far too short for practical use and I ended up getting a regular size one off Amazon that is much better.
5. Wall poster - Since i'm not the only one in the house to use it I got a $10 wall poster from Amazon that has a bunch of different types of exercises.
6. Flooring - Costco had some really nice 1/2" foam gym padding I got to put this and other equipment on. If you're even considering it, doing the flooring first will be a hell of a lot easier than after.

Overall i'm very happy with it as it substitutes many other pieces of equipment, and is quick to switch exercises. Hope this was helpful

I'm not in the market for this item, but I just wanted to give you some karma and appreciation for your post. It makes the decision to buy or not buy, so much easier for all when we have SlickDealer users give their first hand account/experience. That's sometimes better than the reviews you find online.

All the best,

These types of trainers are typically used for accessory movements. Not sure how or why you would want to squat, bench or deadlift with this. Aside from those, this would be enough resistance for any other type of compound movement.

Shows out of stock on COSTCO website for my zip code.
Why not order it online? Shipping is free.

It reportedly comes on three pallets, weighing about 650 pounds. Personally, I'd rather have it delivered to my home than pick it up at the warehouse.

EDIT: After re-reading your post, I think I may have misinterpreted your message. If so, please disregard my useless suggestion.

Sorry, I copied his comment, which is incorrect. From the website: 1:2 resistance ratio

So it halves the weight.
Thanks for the info. I updated the OP, accordingly.

Thanks for the insight! I, too, was considering picking up an additional weight stack. I'll hold off on that based on your comments.

And glad you tipped me off about the bench. I'm 5'6", but my son is 5'9" and he'll be the primary user of the FTX.

Would you happen to have a link to the wall poster?
I think most benches are 17.5" off the ground and the one that came with this was like 12.5". This is the bench I ended up getting: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CR4XFIK

Best of luck!

Bought at Costco. It came in single box - super heavy. Used a dolly to move it inside the garage. It warned that 2 people should install. I did it alone — with little more care since you are trying to tie 2 big pieces on left and right with 2 middle joint frames... if you are super careful and support to hold the frames, single person could install it alone. But take precaution if doing it alone... don't use the instructions from the Costco website - they are old. Use the ones that comes in the package...

Lol, got this from last deal. Be ready to get a workout before even assembling it. The darn thing is heavy and the movers had a hard time moving it. Tucks in the corner very well though and I have a small home.

Hey bro this is great review. Thank for taking the time and writing this. What are the dimensions of the pallets, I am wondering if they can get through a normal bedroom door? Because I will be using one of the bedrooms to install this equipment. Please advise?

I spoke to the vendor about the weight upgrades. The ones they sell are only meant for higher end models. This model does not have weight upgrades. If you try, CS rep said it would shred the cables.

Also, mine from Costco did not come on a pallet. It was one large box and Two guys carried it out from the truck and set it in my garage (although they removed the weights from the box first to lighten the load).

I had mine delivered Tuesday...one large heavy box...three young kids tried maneuvering it...although Costco website specifically mentioned delivery to room of choice on ground floor that was never offered...I just had them put it in the garage...I had the unit installed in my basement within 4 hours by myself. It is a quality piece of equipment.

For the people who already own this. Can two persons move it from ground floor to 1 floor through stairs?
