Everyone keeps commenting about HDMI 2.1 because it's the new technology in the next generation of consoles but the actual real world use of this technology and gaming is years away. If you have any experience with PC gaming and see that not even the highest level Nvidia 2000 series GPUs can sustain a frame rate of 4K 120 there is absolutely no way consoles will be hitting that anytime soon and even then not consistently. The truth of the matter is in my opinion the Sony A8H will provide the best overall picture quality right here and now when you take into account upscaling of content. Gaming features that we won't see until a few years from now shouldn't be the determining factor right now. Just my two cents.
That 65" A8H deal is very slick. Arguably the best OLED tv available for movie/tv viewing. Rtings even has it above the A9G. No HDMI 2.1 is disappointing though. I believe this is one of the Sony models that is equipped with the hdmi 2.1 ports/hardware with no plans on getting the firmware update. And the X900H Sony recently announced "winter" for its 2.1 firmware update, so not gonna be here in time for next months consoles release
Have you done comparisons? I'm considering them both. How is CX better or worse compared to A8H? I'm going to use my TV for both gaming and movies.
Sony generally has better upscaling for content, particularly SD content - whether you would notice depends on how close to the TV you sit.
LG is generally better for gaming.
For what it's worth, I have a B7 and absolutely love it, and the remote and LG WebOS interface are both great. My only complaints are that there's some vertical banding visible in certain scenes (the ones notorious for illustrating vertical banding issues) and that it doesn't have eARC (which was only recently added as part of HDMI 2.1).

Thank you. I noticed that CX seems to have HDMI 2.1 while A8H is on 2.0a. Seems like it would affect the Sony then, but not the LG?
Has motion judder when panning left to right improved in the last couple years? I remember my old plasma handled smooth motion way better than a good oled a couple years back. This is with motion smoothing off by the way, I do not like the artificial motion smoothers.
