FU SONY for no hdmi 2.1
This is the best deal currently available on this tv. I've been actively in the market for an OLED for about two months now and this is a tough one to skip, but no HDMI 2.1 kills this tv. When it comes to paying $1600 for a new TV, I want it to be as future proof as possible. Nothing really uses HDMI 2.1 just yet but it's only a matter of time and missing out on 4K at 120 FPS when it's available will be a shame.

That said, for anyone who doesn't mind, this is the deal you're waiting for. I also find it looks better in person than the LG CX, but that is comparing them side by side. The differences are probably pretty negligible on their own.

Worst part is this model along with the 950g and 950h and i believe the z models all have the hdmi 2.1 hardware but Sony refuses to schedule the firmware update like the 900h is "supposedly" getting, which that won't even get the update till winter mentioned in a recent announcement, months after next gen consoles release. SMH. Makes me believe Sony is having issues with the 2.1 feature software

I understand your concern, but I couldn't stand the motion handling with non-gaming content on the LG CX. A lot of judder, and artifacts were visible on the screen. I previously bought the 65" LG CX from Best Buy for $2400. Used it for 60 hours and decided to return it. Also, the LG App Store lacks a lot of the most popular streaming apps at the moment. You should be able to price match this at Best Buy since it's shipped and sold by Amazon, but I'm curious if the Geek Squad protection will drop in price as well. If I only played games, I would've kept the LG CX.

Edit: I added the following model to get the pricing of the protection plan since it's $1799. TCL - 75" Class 8 Series LED 4K UHD Smart Roku TV
Model:75Q825 SKU:6377907

The five year plan is $359.99.
