"The Sony A8H OLED and the LG CX OLED are almost identical in performance. The Sony delivers slightly better picture quality, as it has better gradient handling and a much better color volume. On the other hand, the LG is a better choice for gaming, as it has a lower input lag, and it supports advanced gaming features like VRR and Auto Low Latency Mode" according to https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...eshold=0.1
I placed my order with BB despite it being $50 cheaper some other places because I wanted the instant gratification of getting it TODAY. I'll sleep easier knowing it hasn't been beaten around the back of a box truck for 4 days - you know, besides initial store delivery lol. I'll get 2% cash back to help split the difference.
Had a horrible experience with my old LG OLED. Not the TV, the LG warranty service. About to pull the trigger on this Sony. nice to know there are a few in stock at my local BB too.

Also had issues with my LG. Got the green blob due to processor heat. LG basically told me not covered don't care.

Ah man. Sorry to hear that. They were the absolute worst to deal with. Complete trash. 25 days in mine just went dark. No one available to send out to fix it and no models to send as a replacement. They kept saying I bought it from an unauthorized dealer (which doesn't matter but they tried to pull that card so many times.) I just kept calling to file more and more tickets and complaints. After a few months, I eventually went to the Better Business Bureau and got a check for the TV. They bought it back from me. I had to send it to an eWaste recycling place. Sad event all around. I'll never deal with them ever again. The worst part is I used to love a lot of their stuff. I still find stuff from LG that I'm interested in but I won't have it.

This is the 2020 model. I don't think it was out around the Super Bowl. Maybe last years model you're thinking of?
Yeah you are correct. It was a similar version of it last year I believe. Maybe a different model #.
I believe the previous model was the A8G. Just a guess off the top of my head as I was looking a lot last year too.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't know a ton about tvs so I'm not sure if that's a normal thing or not.
