I'm currently on Sprint and have an iphone xs max with a cracked screen. Will I need to get the screen replaced for it to qualify for any promotion? It is fully functional.

  • AT&T Signature discounts aren't available with this plan.
  • This plan doesn't include mobile hotspot data.
That's correct

That is accurate. The starter plan never qualified for Signature discount as far as I remember (even before this iPhone 12 promo).

My iPhone X's battery says it needs service. Should I get it replaced before trading in or do you think it will still qualify as good condition? It's at 78% health

If I had gotten a few of the iPhone 8s from cricket, this would be pretty slick. We already use AT&T via redpocket anyway. Not sure at the moment about the plans, but this seems decent for a new phone. Still probably would cost more than my family would want to pay though, after discount... As well as the plan
i heard Redpocket has unavailable messaging at times, how is yours? Any tips for someone thinking about moving out of postpaid?

Has to be worth at least $95 in trade-in value. You can check on http://att.com/tradein/ what your phone is worth if not in great condition.
Hi, am wondering whether my iphone 8+ (locked to Cricket) worth $800? Thanks in advance!

My family uses it, I don't. My brother claims to have dropped calls, but he also threw his phone and it intermittently works... So that issue is probably more on him than reception/indoor reception.

You'll have to do your own research. I think since an update to ios, imessage(?) works now. If you read the thread, someone claimed group messaging can get your messages disabled because it sends too many at once or something

Does anyone have any idea when AT&T will come out with a loyalty department deal for the iPhone 12? Last years deal was great at $450 for iPhone 11 no trade in.
do you know if one can unlock to travel overseas or does the 2 yrs have to end? Thanks

Yah, it's either the 30 months installment OR the 2 year contract. The 2 year contract is something you have to call retention/loyalty to get.

And to further clarify, you did not buy your phone outright. Buying a phone "outright" means you bought it at full price (minus manufacturer/retailer discounts like BestBuy, Walmart, etc) and phone is unlocked and can be used on any carrier that the phone is compatible with.

What you did with AT&T is just taking a $450 discount upfront from AT&T and in exchange, you agree to being locked to their network for two years. Your phone is not unlocked and you won't be able to request unlock until your contract ends, if you leave and pay the ETF, or got lucky and they unlock your phone before your contract ends for whatever reason.

The 30 months installment on the other hand is a way to finance your phone with AT&T where you pay back total cost of the phone over 30 months at 0% interest - this is basically an interest free loan. After you pay off the total amount to AT&T for your phone, you can then request for your phone to be network unlocked to use on other carriers.
So the Loyalty 2 yrs does seem locked until 2 yrs is up but the installment option I believe you can request to unlocked for example I bought the discounted price on the SE from walmart you need a upgrade line with monthly installments with Att but as soon as I paid off the upgraded line I can request an unlock.

Or maybe this deal requires you to pay full retail upfront then you cant payoff since you already paid so now the credits will kick in and you cant unlock since the agreement is not fulfilled.

Edit: this deal from Apple has the Att deal where you can pay installments so I think it cant be unlocked I was confused with the separate Att deal that requires an installment olan but you have to pay retail upfront:
https://www.att.com/

So you CAN NOT UNLOCK for all three options( Apple w/Att deal, Att deal, Att Loyalty 2 yrs contract)

Any objections?

Is the iPhone 12 eligible for this offer as well? I would like the iPhone 12 256 which looks to be $150 less than the pro 256gb.

The 30 months of promotional credit is tied to the line (on an Unlimited plan), not the device.
If you pay off the phone, you will stop seeing a charge of $26.67 on your bill, but you'll still get the $26.67/month credits for 30 months.

If you port out the line, the $26.67/month credits will stop.

The line won't be eligible for an upgrade promotion via Apple/AT&T for 30 months, if you're still receiving credits.

If you want to upgrade next year, you'll want to check out the AT&T Installment Plan with Next Up, which is an extra $5/month.
So is unlocking possible within 30 months if one plans to stay?

This isn't really a deal in my opinion, because att's unlimited plans are outrageously priced, so you are paying the difference in the overpriced plan for 30 months. I'll stick with att prepaid and buy my own phone outright.
4 lines cheapest "Att unlimited starter" is $35x4=$140 so which prepaid is better I might switch but heard prepaid cards dont work when purchased, message/text not working at times.

Only if you pay off the device completely before 30 months. Which means you're forfeiting credits that would have normally offset your payoff amount.

So basically, not unlocked if you want it for $0.
