Exactly my friend I'm planing onto going back to att . I was on att for like 6 years and never had problems with my internet reception. Went to T-Mobile and everybody knows it is garbage cheap but you never get reception so I paid off my phones to get out of the contract then moved to sprint winch worked well for some time and guess what as soon as T-Mobile bought sprint and merged boom same garbage reception I had before with T-Mobile so I'm paying off my phones and moving to att.

In my calculations I assume an iPhone 12 or 12 Pro with an iPhone 8 trade in. Basically maximizing the att deal value. Ie paying $200 for the 12 pro vs $1000.

Yes With loyalty deals the access fee increases as all discounts will be taken off so it is always advice to move to unlimited plan or buy a unlocked phone directly as in long run you will save money ... hope that helps 🙏

I'm going to try it now. I actually last year got 2 Apple 5 44mm watches free as long as I did 12 months of service on the watch. Came out to around $145 for the year. All I did was ask if they had any deals on watches and they helped me out

Did anyone else pre-order an iPhone 12 or 12 Pro from Best Buy for pickup on release day (Oct 23rd)? I ordered an iPhone 12 Pro from Best Buy and chose to pay via the AT&T 30 month installment agreement.

I waited all day on Friday for an email saying that my phone was ready for pickup but I never received it. I drove to the store at 6:30pm on Friday and was told that there were three people in front of my and that I would have to wait to pick up my phone. A half hour later, a Best Buy employee came over and told me that I shouldn't have come to the store because my phone wasn't ready yet. He told me that they didn't have my phone yet and that when Best Buy said that my phone would be available for pickup on launch day, that it was only an "estimate" of when it would be available.

I've been waiting all weekend for an email from BestBuy telling me that my order is ready, but they haven't sent me anything. Also, Best Buy's chat tool has been unavailable since Friday. This morning, it said that 99 people were ahead of me in the queue and then displayed an error saying they they are having technical difficulties. I tried calling them on Friday, but after a 20 minute wait on hold, I heard a click and the call ended. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm not sure what's going on. I've already paid tax on the phone and AT&T sent me an email stating that the installment agreement has started.

Simply go to the chat and say you've been a loyal customers to AT&T and ask if they can do anything about the activation fee. Always worked for me Wink

I did the same thing...it was a mess too. What's worse was that I ordered 5 of them. Didn't receive the pick up email so started calling at 2, because other family members needed to know what was going on. Was on hold for 20 min.. transfer.. hold.. transferred again. Finally spoke with someone in the mobile dept. He said there was an activation error on my account and he wasn't sure what happened. He's have a manager call back after their lunch. About 40 min later someone called back(who wasn't a manager) and said there was a problem with activating the phones and I'd have to come in and make an appt. I asked why didn't they call or text before. He said they must've tried activating, didn't work and his manager called to let me know.. he was just following up). I told him I had to call y'all.. but whatever.
Made the appt for 6. He said there was an activation problem with the phones and the new plans. He had to deactivate everyone's old phones and activate the new ones. I said.. I was the only one here and one lived out of town.. so that couldn't happen. He said he couldn't let it go without being activated... I'd have to come back to do that one.
Anyway... 2 HOURS later.. he had 3 of the 4 activated with Att and couldn't activate the last one.. maybe because I ordered it on the same order as the 'out of town' one. So he finally said, I'll release the 'out of town' phone and you can activate it later and then he was able to activate the 4th one.
So.. two hours of my life I'll never get back. The kicker is.. none of these phones were for me.. they were all for family members!
I thought just picking them up would be easier/faster because I didn't know how they'd be delivered and sometimes UPS doesn't come until 7/8 PM.
Lesson learned.. never again!

Ugh... I wonder if I should just order directly from Apple or AT&T (if I'm able to do so) and have them ship me the phone. The problem is that the estimated delivery date is almost a month away through AT&T or Apple.

I'm not interested in having AT&T activate my new phone in-store, because, like you, the phone it's replacing is an "out-of-town" phone and I don't want to deactivate the existing phone (which isn't mine). I've never heard of such a requirement. I pre-ordered a second iPhone 12 Pro for a different line and picked it up on Friday at the Apple store with no problem. I brought it home and activated it.

So I will change from Mobile Share Advantage Plus to Unlimited Elite/Starter then contact Loyalty and ask how mich is the Access fee and how mich Discount I am loosing first before taking the Loyalty 2 yrs?

Man this activation fee waiver is a huge pain. Now I'm just annoyed. Agent last week said they could waive it, but I had to call back after I actually had the phone.

Fast forward, and of course her notes don't mention it - in fact she apparently wrote the exact opposite (that I don't qualify to have it waived). Agent 1 - nothing they can do; manager - nothing they can do; loyalty department - nothing they can do. Such a scam fee.
