If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

With lines that are upgradeable we dont have to deal with the 24month device payments correct? Compared to transferring and opening a new line you'd have to.

My experience was that I am an existing Xfinity mobile member. It offered the gift card when I upgraded my existing device. If I tried to add a new line, it did not offer the gift card.

I chatted with customer representative and here's my understanding to be eligible for $250 master card:
  1. Phone must be purchased only via Device Payment Plan i.e. 24 months EMI and Port In from other carrier. Full payment is not eligible for promotion.
  2. Mobile phone can be unlocked after 2 months and one can terminate mobile service after 60 days but the Device Payment Plan should continue on the Xfinity account.
  3. If customer closes Xfinity account (internet service) prior to 24 months (till Device Payment Plan finishes), the customer won't get benefits of promotion. In such case, $250 will be deducted/charged at account closing time.
This deal is slick for users who are guaranteed to stick with XFinity account for 2 more years.
For everyone else hoping to get quick connection and unlock may not be able to get full advantage.
--> if anyone in NYC,NJ is planning to get the deal and is assured to stay with xfinity for 2 years, can they offer me 1 line for extra fee.

After the deal has come out, it unfortunately looks like this isn't true. If you disconnect the line the phone is on you get billed back the 250.

I just pre-ordered the iPhone 12 Pro, switching from Verizon. The only option to save $250 for new customers is through device payment. Not a big deal to me since I don't plan on switching carriers. My monthly payment with the iPhone 12 Pro payment is going to be less than my monthly payment on Verizon without a device payment on it, insane.

I am also thinking of trading in my iPhone X, does anyone have experience with that?

I just chatted with an agent online. They said I could start service by bringing my own device. 7 days after activation I could purchase an iPhone and get the $250 prepaid card as an existing customer. Then it looks like you need to keep the service for 90 days. That can get around the 24 month lock in.

Can anybody confirm if the $37.50 cash back works from that populaR site?

edit: NM I think I found the answer
"Exclusions: Cash Back is available for new lines only. Cash Back is not available on the purchase of devices and accessories."

FYI, for those considering trade-in of your current device:
https://www.xfinity.com/mobile/su...-old-phone

Per the instructions in the link above, I called (888) 936-4968 and was told they couldn't evaluate or quote a trade-in value over the phone and I would have to visit an Xfinity Store (directly contradicting the website).

Aside from selling on FB Marketplace or Craigslist, what is the best way to get rid of an old device for maximum value? Gazelle is saying $153 for my like-new iPhone8+ which seems low.

No Comcast in my area, but XM treated me well a few years ago. Hoping Spectrum Mobile does a similar promo soon!

Try a few of the resale sites and you'll get a rough idea of what they'll probably offer. For example, the highest value I found on my iPhone X 256GB was $316 on decluttr.

Xfinity seems to want you to go in store to get a appraised value which I find annoying.
