If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

I'm wondering the same.

If a new account is setup and the person upgrades let's say a week later I wonder if the system will reject a rebate.
I was just in the store setting up some new lines and they said you are considered a new customer after 1 billing cycle. So I ported in 2 lines that I don't care if it is a 24-month credit (older parents) and set up 2 new lines that are more likely to be cancelled or ported out if I see a great deal elsewhere in 3-4 months. Hope that helps.

I'll port in #s for the other 2 lines in 30 days (prior to January) to get the $250 card vs bill credits.

I have my kids on Xfinity mobile which give them unlimited talk/text, and then I just disable the cellular data portion and they can use the internet when they're on WiFi only. The way I see the deal (since I'm already invested) I can just keep the lines active which I would anyway, and order new iPhone SEs for $400 which are paid in full at purchase time and get a $250 GC which makes them effectively $150/ea after waiting for 12-16 weeks. Just validating this works in the way that I'm thinking?

Yes that was helpful. Thank you. I will have to look into this. I figure 1 month to be a new customer and then an additional 4 months to get the rebate. The last time I did a rebate with them was probably a year ago. It took about 12 weeks to get it. I plan to leave after the rebate. Cheaper plans around. Although $45.00 is not bad for unlimited.

If you go into the xfinity store to pick up the phone, does it have to be the account holder or can anyone go in as long as they have the account information? It is much easier for my brother to go in as he lives closer to the store

I am thinking about doing the same thing I just need to make sure I would indeed get the $250 card. I saw some posts earlier in the thread saying they $250 gc showed up in their cart on check out but didn't show up on the confirmation e-mail. Not sure I want to spread it out over 24 months but I've been with XM since the beginning anyway as it works out great for us.

Any hints whether there'll be something better on BF than this at it's slickest (including $75 cb).

16-18 weeks is pretty brutal and should remember it's a REBATE not a discount, ie. high taxes states bite a bit on this

So you could buy it get the discount and immediately pay it off and port out?
It's like with every other carrier - you get monthly bill credits, and you lose any future credits by doing that.

for someone that has been a verizon subscriber for the last 20 years, and happy with their service, what are the pros and cons switching to Xfinity mobile? I understand they use the same vzw towers? So thinking speeds and reception should be the same?

Curious to know if anyone from vzw switched to here, and their thoughts.
In my area... like none. It's been great service, literally zero difference from traditional VZW. I ported out of VZW for personal use and also still carry a work phone one VZW. I don't hesitate to recommend xfinity mobile to friends and family.

I tried it and got the same thing. The cart shows the $250 GC, but the confirmation email doesn't. I'm not sure if anyones confirmation email reflects the $250GC though.

Am I understanding this correctly that if I want the $250 prepaid card and not the monthly credits, my account has to be over one billing cycle old?
