If you are not a heavy data user, say less than 3GB monthly, major savings are available. I was with Verizon and all the costs just kept adding up. Monthly fee, line fee, 911, taxes, regulatory, on and on....

Is Xfinity right for everyone, no. Is it right for savers who don't use a phone constantly for streaming, for video, for online gaming, for regular Google mapping; yes it is.

My monthly bill is between $16 and $28, just depends on data usage. Locations I had a problem with Verizon service are the same locations I have problems with Xfinity, but those are very, very few.

My Verizon bill, no matter what was around 60 per line. Don't need to pay all that money to pad someone else's pockets.

Look at your monthly data avg., to see what makes cents and dollars.

for someone that has been a verizon subscriber for the last 20 years, and happy with their service, what are the pros and cons switching to Xfinity mobile? I understand they use the same vzw towers? So thinking speeds and reception should be the same?

Curious to know if anyone from vzw switched to here, and their thoughts.
We switched from Verizon a few years ago. We are t heavy data users and right now both iPhone XS are paid off so for both phones our bill is $30 per month. If we use more data than 3 gigs I bump it up to the $60 10 gig plan if I'm approaching $60 in data charges.. can't beat it. Now we have kids who don't have phones yet but soon will, not sure how unlimited compares(let's face it, kids are heavy users) to Verizon but I will cross that bridge when I get there!

I'm an existing customer (paid for iPhone 12 in full) and can now see the gift card in the rebate center, www.xfinityrewardcenter.com. Took a few days to appear after II activated my new phone (which in itself took many calls Asia turns out they never registered the SIM they included with the phone). As others have mentioned, the gift card originally showed at checkout when I pre-ordered, but not on order confirmation. Screenshot attached.

Curiously, I'm still on the original $12/gb plan and the phone indicates I get 5G service, which would be nice!
Can anyone comment on data usage of these new Iphones (might get the new SE). I don't use much data on my old LG X charge even when keeping my 4g data on. Was curious if the iphones are pretty data efficient? Or do they tend to use data even when your not using apps, etc? Kind of like a data leak? I thought I remember reading about this a few years back? I like to keep my data usage below 1 gig on XM because I'm cheapSmilie

Can't speak to the iPhone 12 specifically - it hasn't been out long enough. But, I have two iPhones SE's on Xfinity, and they use less than 0.1 GB of data each per month. This is with 'auto-fetch mail' enabled. So, no, iPhones don't have a 'data leak' problem.

I've ported in two lines BYOD last week and am thinking about replacing a device with the iphone 12 taking advantage of the $250 prepaid card. However the "customer service" of XM is completely useless. I talked to three "agents":

--One said the BYOD phone had to be purchased from XM to qualify for the discount
--One said the new phone has to be on a monthly plan to "get the card'
--One said I have to port in another number to qualify

WTF?? Where did they outsource their "agents" to get such clueless monkeys?

In all seriousness, I already see a $25 port-in credit in their "reward center". If I just go ahead and buy one of their iphones now paying full price (I see the $250 card in the cart if I choose "pay in full") will I get the prepaid card or not?
Any luck with this? I am also interested to know if this will work. Thanks!

No, my family used SE1, 6s, 7, and iphone 11 on their networks. It's very accurate, but I made sure to go into each data app setting and disable the major data hoggers like (youtube, netflix, facebook etc) just in case it ever decides to use data.

Good to hear. I am thinking about getting the new SE. I'm a little concerned about the size of the keyboard for typing but with the $250 back it's a really good deal.

So, if you already have an existing xfinity mobile account, can you add a new line onto the account with a BYOD and then upgrade it to an iphone to get the $250 gift card? Is there a certain amount of time you have to wait between adding the new line and the upgrade or can you do it a few days later?

That's a good question if you already have a xfinity mobile account and port in a new line for the promotion, will you help to check with customer support and let us know? I could see the $250 gift card in cart when I did it last week after porting in a new line.thanks.

It can't hurt - it won't affect your visa eligibilty but whether top cash back pays out is not guaranteed.

Does anyone know if you buy the phone in an xfinity store do they charge the tax rate of the store or where you live? I will be passing through a tax free state in 2 weeks.

Would you ask the same question when purchasing McDonalds Drive Thru while travelling out of your home tax area? lol

The Mcdonald's you would save 1 or 2 dollars in tax. Here you are saving $70 - $90. Big difference.
