TP-Link Archer AX50
The best Wi-Fi router
In our tests the TP-Link Archer AX50 created a speedy, responsive network even from across a medium house. You have to spend a lot more on a router—or a mesh kit if you have a very large home—to get anything even a little better. It's our first WI-Fi 6 (802.11ax) router pick.
The TP-Link Archer AX50 is reasonably priced, yet it can handle a growing selection of laptops and smart devices while surpassing the performance of routers that cost twice as much. It's generally speedy and able to reach long range, it has little lag even when the network is busy, and it's a great choice if you have a high-performance internet service plan. It's compatible with Wi-Fi 6, the latest wireless standard, and it comes with built-in security in the form of a lifetime subscription to updates.
TP-Link Archer AX20
If our main pick is unavailable
The Archer AX20 offers fewer features than our pick for a slightly lower price, but in most cases it can keep up in throughput, responsiveness, and ease of setup.
If our pick is out of stock or its price is more than $30 higher, you should consider the TP-Link Archer AX20 instead. The AX20 looks like the AX50 and offers a strong, responsive network that's nearly as good, especially if your house isn't larger than our 2,300-square-foot-test home. But it's not quite as fast at longer ranges, and TP-Link sacrifices a few advanced features and settings in its administration interface to meet the lower price

Overall if you want a entry level to medium end router, you cant go wrong.[/QUOTE]
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
1. Donknows has a review on the AX3000 (Archer AX 50) this has thoroughly been discredited on this thread.

As was mentioned by me and a few others, that DONGKNOWS review is poorly done. It is not an apples to apples comparison, he used a router with a brand new firmware comparing to an identical router with firmware over 6 months old which had major problems just like any other router around that time. It takes time to work out the bugs and TP-Link, Netgear, Asus to name a few all put out routers with bugged performance with their first set of Wifi 6 routers. So yeah..... Important to make apples to apples instead of reading something without understanding the testing. If he did it the correct way he would have had both side by side on the same firmware. The routers are identical outside USB 3.0 port and Homecare included on one, so you will get identical performance results with the same firmware.

2. CAT7, a CAT 6 or CAT5e cable is needed for gigabit Ethernet. Most cables made for the last 10 years are already 5e, so just saying that cables are usually never a bottleneck.

and every few days i have to restart them for the upload speeds to be normal. they drop to .01mb/s
2ghz wont pass 30mb/s when my old 5 year old router delivered 110mb/s on 2ghz
5ghz delivers my max speed but for some reason videos lag and buffer.
my chromecast cant connect to it no matter what i do
set up was annoying
range is terrible, not near whats listed.
tp-link doesnt have a way to use mulitple routers in a mesh setup like my last routers (asus) did. major disappointment.
TLDR: i will be replacing these with a google mesh system + a gigabit switch. i hear it just works without headaches.
i dont know how this router got good reviews
(Which doesn't work between routers, so prob still not what you want)
Or the Deco devices. Probably the Deco X60 at Costco. Sale price was $250 a few months ago.
Can't go wrong with Google Wifi. Consistent reports on stability on those things. I don't think they support Wifi 6 yet though?

I'm coming from an Archer C7, which has performed ok, but is starting to have issues (probably because my husband and I are now both on video calls at the same time), or one of us is on a call while the other is trying to stream. I have about 2,000 square feet that I'm trying to cover (through walls, etc).
Is it worth upgrading to the AX3000, or will the AX1800 do everything I need?
Thanks!
Other use is if you have a external hard drive, you can put movies/music/photos on it and share that with every computer and device in the house.

1. If you have a non wireless printer you could hook up the usb cable from the printer and share the printer for every computer in the house to print to. Other use is if you have a external hard drive, you can put movies/music/photos on it and share that with every computer and device in the house.
2. No you would still have to setup the router, there is an app they make you install on your phone that runs you through all the steps. You will in most cases have to rejoin all your devices to the router, because your old router probably used a very old security protocol and during the setup its going to ask you to use the latest security protocol to secure your network. Here is the walk through on how to setup a TP-Link router using their app.

I get download speeds of 230 mbps with the SB6141 (my contract with Spectrum is for 200 mbps) with a wired connection without a router.

Speed are ok and fast but again... Responsiveness.. Maybe where mesh suffers
You can still try the steps in the below guide and see if it works, since it could be a oversight.

Here in the manual it mentions only usb hard drive sharing:

Technicolor is just a name for the modem line, its made by Cisco.

1. After looking a little further into it, this model might not support usb printer sharing cause I dont see any mention of it in the manual. Usually they mention it, but all they seem to mention is external hard drives.

2. The modem they sent is like one step up from your current modem and it can support max speeds of around 500Mbps. So yes it is better, that does not mean you will see faster speeds though, but it might help keep the service running slightly more reliably. If you install the new modem you will have to call their support to set it up on your account just a fyi they usually do not work right off the bat till you call the company to activate it.

#2: I will swap out the modem. I guess because they they sent me a modem/voice device, does it mean I have to get rid of the Arris Voice MTA that I have as well?
Nice that there is no rental fee on the modem/voice device. I can't believe Spectrum is so nice.
