  • For trade-ins, you'll receive two different trade-in credits — one from Apple and one from T‑Mobile/Sprint.
  • When you trade in with Apple, you'll get an estimated trade-in value. If you pay monthly, that value will be applied as an instant credit to lower your monthly payments. If you pay in full, your payment method will be credited after your trade-in is received.
  • Pre-Paid Mastercard expires 6-months from time of issuance.
  • Lines must be active and in good standing when card is issued. Allow up to 2 weeks after fulfillment of offer requirements.

Absolutely no reason to do this deal if you are a long time Tmo customer and don't plan on going anywhere. Here's why:

1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.

2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.
How do you get $415 for iPhone 8 trade-in? My iPhone XS is estimated as $241 at T-Mobile.

T-Mobile is actually offering $415 for the 8 Plus through their deal on their website.
You have to go through the checkout process to see the trade-in offer quoted to you.

ok, thanks, that helps.

That's not the case with everyone. I traded in my iphone xs max for $370 +$150 = $520. Plus apple is offering an extra instant $30 off for t-mobile users. So it's in $799 instead of $829.
Were you able to see the option for iPhone 12 Pro Max?

You can't go by the regular trade-in calculator.

The $415 is quoted to you as a trade-in value when going through the checkout process for buying the new iPhone.

Any deals for current sprint customers? When I click on "upgrade" I don't see any deals for iPhone 12. Currently have an xr and still have 3 months of payments left

I think it's 40 days but I'm not sure if this counts as a postpaid phone.

I don't think unlocking is relevant since the phone is unlocked?

So if I'm a current customer, do I have to open a new line or can I just trade in my phone and get the $150 with my current plan?

This line is confusing me "You can activate on any T-Mobile/Sprint phone plan"

I am a bill credits noob. I understand the thing where they charge you and then give you the credit, so your bill is unchanged. BUT I assume you can only have one of these active at a time right? So if in 18 months another deal comes along with bill credits, you won't be able to take advantage?

I'm not trying to be obnoxious, rather i'm just cynical.....but how do you know that you'll get the $415? it says up to that amount, and I'm concerned that it's sort of a bait and switch once they actually get your phone? thoughts?

Why is the fact that T-Mobile gave me $500 for my iPhone X not believable?
T-Mobile will credit the value of trade in once it is received by them, and the remaining amount up to a total $500 will be monthly credit. So, total $500 (monthly credits + value assessed)

You can take advantage of another promotion as long as you pay of the EIP for this first promo first. Credits will continue.
For details, see the Wiki section called Recurring Device Credits in the other T-Mobile (non-Apple site) deal thread.

This is correct

TMobile will give you a one time bill credit for the accessed value of your trade in then the remaining balance will be credited via EIP promotion bill credit over 30 month

Let's say they value your iPhone X at $85 trade in value, you will get one time $85 bill credit then balance of $415 - $85 = $330 will be split into 30 monthly credit of $11 per month

Hard to know for sure, but the mains questions they ask are:
* Does the device have an acceptable LCD and display? A device with screen damage may be eligible for a reduced trade-in credit but will not qualify for promotions.
* Does the device power on?
* Does the device have liquid damage (i.e. is the liquid damage indicator tripped or missing)?

I don't know how it would work such that if they don't give you the full value you wanted, could you return the new phone now in your possession and get your old phone back.
