1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

I am surprised how many people are OK with buying into a 30 month "not-a-contract" contract. This doesn't bode well for future deals now that T-mobile knows they can implement these lengthy terms without much push-back. We will be probably seeing 36 and 42 month terms down the road.
