How does the trade-in credit work?

Apple trade-in credit

1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

* Does the device have an acceptable LCD and display? A device with screen damage may be eligible for a reduced trade-in credit but will not qualify for promotions.
* Does the device power on?
* Does the device have liquid damage (i.e. is the liquid damage indicator tripped or missing)?
I don't know how it would work such that if they don't give you the full value you wanted, could you return the new phone now in your possession and get your old phone back.

I was originally asking if this would stack with the 15% employee discount since the promotion isn't showing in the employee store. T-mobile rep told me it SHOULD be okay but I'm not sure still.Edit: EPP will not get the $150 prepaid card.

Basically, $514 verses $456. With the Apple Credit Card, you can reduce that another 3%, or $24. Apple is $82 less.
