1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

Does T-Mobile One constitute a "qualifying service?" There is a different person's name on my account as I am on a family plan, but I am buying the iPhone 12 outright on my own dime. Would the gift card come in my name or their name?

Placed the order, no email from t mobile. Customer care didnt really know how the promotion is supposed to work, they said to wait till the end of day.

The trade in XR for a 12 at T-Mobile is $829 + 30 for SIM and activation. Credit is $415, for net of $445 plus tax on $859. If via Apple, $799. Credit is $400, for net of $400 plus tax on $799. Basically, $514 verses $456. With the Apple Credit Card, you can reduce that another 3%, or $24. Apple is $82 less.
Anyone know how much Apple is going to use the AR going forward, or is this just going to be used for basic apps.
