What is the offer?
For a limited time, trade in an iPhone 8 or newer (in good condition) when you buy your new iPhone from Apple and get an additional $150 trade-in credit from T‑Mobile/Sprint after your purchase.
How do I get the offer?
When you buy your new iPhone from Apple, choose T‑Mobile or Sprint as your carrier, trade in an iPhone 8 or newer, then activate with any T-Mobile/Sprint phone plan. Once your order is complete, you'll get an email with next steps.
How does the trade-in credit work?
You'll receive two different trade-in credits — one from Apple and one from T‑Mobile/Sprint.
Apple trade-in credit
When you trade in with Apple, you'll get an estimated trade-in value. If you pay monthly, that value will be applied as an instant credit to lower your monthly payments. If you pay in full, your payment method will be credited after your trade-in is received.
T-Mobile/Sprint trade-in credit
Once your trade-in is complete, you'll get the additional $150 trade-in credit in the form of a virtual prepaid Mastercard® from T-Mobile/Sprint. You'll receive an email (after you place your order) with a promo code that you'll submit at promotions.T-Mobile.com.
Which phone plans are eligible?
You can activate on any T-Mobile/Sprint phone plan. To be eligible for the offer, you will need to authorize activation when you buy your new iPhone from Apple.

Email content:
Congratulations on your new iPhone. Because you've purchased at Apple and are using Apple Trade In for an iPhone 8 or newer, you may be eligible for the T-Mobile Special Trade-in Offer.
Here's what to do next:
Trade in your eligible iPhone (in good condition) using the Mail-in Kit Apple will send you after your new iPhone ships, or take it to an Apple Store if you selected that option when you purchased your new iPhone. If you've already completed your eligible iPhone trade-in at an Apple Store, skip to the next step.
Register for the offer at promotions.t-mobile.com within 30 days of activating your new iPhone. You'll need your T-Mobile active phone number, the IMEI number of your new device, and promo code 2020APPLERETAILT1.
Complete activation of your new iPhone on the T-Mobile network. You must remain active and in good standing on any voice rate plan to qualify for the offer.
What to expect:
Approximately two weeks after your eligible trade-in is complete, you'll get the additional $150 trade-in credit in the form of a virtual prepaid Mastercard®. You'll receive an SMS from T-Mobile with redemption information at the T-Mobile number you designated during your offer submission.
If your trade-in has an issue:
If your trade-in doesn't match the condition described, or isn't an eligible device, you will no longer qualify for the T-Mobile Special Trade-in Offer. However, Apple Trade In will provide a new value for your device. You'll have the option to either accept this revised value or reject it. We'll work with you to confirm that you still want to move forward with the trade-in.

1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

Plus $100 ?
As for the extra $100, Costco's phone price is discounted by 10%. So the $999 12pro is priced at $899
See the Costco thread for details.
Lots of driving for that elusive iPhone 11 128gb. LOL
Now waiting for an update - mine looks like delivery the week after or 2....
Your best bet will probably be to find a used or prepaid (Boost) iphone to trade in if the numbers work, or just buy with the 10% savings Costco provides on in-stock phones, then sell your Pixel on Swappa or ebay or something.

The couple times I've done this, the kiosk folks were up to their armpits in people waiting to be served and weren't answering the phone.
Best I've heard other folks manage is getting the Costco customer service folks to tell them the beginning of the day stock. Which still can be a crapshoot if there's more buyers than available stock by the time you can get there.
There are lots of driving because we are trying to beat to the punch the thousands of other people who want the same phone. And they called too.
Secondly as Deedawg mentions they don't answer the damn phone.
I heard about it on MacRumors.com
Remember, you don't have to buy from TMobile - you can buy from Apple and use the promo link and code (when it works) to get your $150...
Don't get the SIM free version as T Mobile will not pay out the $150 as they will find the IMEI number as Non-T Mobile....
You can always go line up at the Apple store or carrier store this Friday and see if you can get one direct from them - they should have good inventory since the pandemic is forcing a lot of people to receive their phone remotely...
I am thinking of doing that myself.....
