If your trade-in doesn't match the condition described, or isn't an eligible device, you will no longer qualify for the T-Mobile Special Trade-in Offer. 1) Going directly with T-mobile, using the iPhone 8 as a trade in will net you $415 off instead of Apple $140 + $150 Rebate Card. $415 vs $290. No brainer. Granted the Tmo deal is bill credits, but if your staying with Tmobile, who cares.
2) If you don't want Bill credits, BE PATIENT. Costco will have an offer soon if they don't have one already that will usually mirror T-Mobiles direct offer except with a prepaid card instead. Will beat Apple's crappy offer.

That said, Costco has limited stock, so you may be doing a bunch of chasing around to find a phone, or you me get lucky and not have to chase. Costco also just has a couple colors and capacities, so if you want something else the Costco deal doesn't do you any good.
