  • For trade-ins, you'll receive two different trade-in credits — one from Apple and one from T‑Mobile/Sprint.
  • When you trade in with Apple, you'll get an estimated trade-in value. If you pay monthly, that value will be applied as an instant credit to lower your monthly payments. If you pay in full, your payment method will be credited after your trade-in is received.
  • Pre-Paid Mastercard expires 6-months from time of issuance.
  • Lines must be active and in good standing when card is issued. Allow up to 2 weeks after fulfillment of offer requirements.

I purchased using gift cards and credit card, and the trade-in was given back in gift cards FYI. It sucks.

Update: My other trade-in was credited back via credit card which is good. So I guess it randomly credits it differently

I received apple trade in refund on 12/24 but still no $150 from T-Mobile yet.
You may want to call them and ask if imei of phone you sent is correct cuz they said there is an issue with incorrect imei number and rep was able to override to make it approval.
After 48 hours of correction, it shows as approved and received a virtual master card. Hope it helps. 😊

Same. I did 70% GC and 30% CC

My rebate that I submitted on 12/3 still shows up as Received

Not sure why its taking so long....

I did call them, apple sales/store line, and they said that the preference on refunds is gift cards. That was it. Nothing they could do. I just hate that there's no chat or email communication

This is interesting. I had asked this question through chat support several times before and after I made my purchase. They all assured me I would receive trade in value back as refund on credit card, and if I received in gift card, I can call and request it to be put on my credit card instead. So at least I have that documented in written form. I also called and they also said the same thing as chat support, so I guess we'll see. I would fight tooth and nail tbh.

Also, maybe not the best way but you can try sending email to Tim Cook email and see if they will deal with it - there's likely a team dealing with these emails, not Tim Cook himself, and this can bring some attention to your issue. I guess it doesn't hurt to try if call support doesn't help you.

I did call and ask previously and I am sure the person said that it would be refunded via credit card. How did your refund process? Also, where's the chat service? lol

I'm still waiting on my trade in so I don't know what's gonna be like yet. I usually just go to the order detail page and scroll down to the end and there is a chat option along with call Apple Support. But chat support did specify with me that they cannot do refund request like this through chat, only call support can.

I think your best bet is keep pestering call support and use Tim Cook email - hopefully a higher up corporate person will take care of you. Nothing else to lose now.

I ordered 12 pro max through a friend using his t-mobile account and paid from my apple account. Upon receiving the phone, I removed the sim card and turned on to activate later. However it activated the number in my mobile without sim and my friend lost his connection on his phone. He then called t- mobile and reactivated the number on his phone after getting a new sim from t-mobile store. He is hesitant to submit the rebate now and his fear is that upon submitting they will deactivate his connection from his phone and he needs to go through the same steps again.

Can someone confirm that submitting rebate with my phone's IMEI and his phone number from his account will NOT deactivate his number from his phone and NOT activate his number on my phone?

I am confident that rebate submission will not activate or deactivate connection but claim can be declined if IMEI numbers (activate vs. submitted) and phone number are not matching.

It won't deactivate. I did the same for my family member I.e. I submitted the rebate form. Don't worry once it is activated and you have some proof that the Sim card was activated on your phone it should be fine.

I had the same problem and called in. The first rep was not helpful at all. Then called second time, it was resolved. I have received the refund in almost 3 weeks. It doesn't make sense to credit to gift card if some of your payment was from credit card.
