I have access to both but i definitely prefer Sam's club. They are the only one who carries Pampers. They have the brands I actually buy. We love their frozen food selection, fresh produce and some desserts.

Every time I go to Costco they are out of the water i buy (Ozarka or Nestle). They don't carry the specific brands that i need. Yes it's great if you want to buy Costco brand everything but I don't. In DFW there are like 6+ Sam's clubs closer to me than Costco.

If it wasn't for my husband buying his mom's vitamins at Costco I would probably just cancel it.

Sam's has higher quality produce in my experience, and it's by a long shot. Also a different variety of frozen foods that my family enjoys more. Additionally, scan n go, and a lot less crowded.

Having said all that, Costco is the overall winner IMO.
Not true, Costco has higher quality produce mainly because a lot of their stuff is organic now for pretty much the same price as at Sam's we buy green beans at Costco it's hands down the best quality and price than any other store.

I'm a Costco shopper. Does anyone have some compelling reasons as to why trying Sam's Club might be worthwhile?
I'm a little surprised to hear people say this. I've had the exact opposite reaction when I've gone into Costco but it's due to the amount of people that have been in there every time I have been there.

People are rushing all about and it's been really crowded. It almost comes off as the apocalyptic movies we've all seen and I've wondered if I've missed a news update about some impending doom. Lol.

Can those saying so give some reasons they find it to be a better experience/place overall? I've heard good things about their Vodka. 🤷🏼

My Sams Club membership expired a couple of months back. Since we hardly used Samsclub it's all Costco, but I keep Sams Club membership to get few items few times of a year and as long as Sams club give free membership.
So was there in store last weekend and when I opened my app, it showed me that my membership expire.
I went to the front desk and told them, can you give me $45 GC for renewing membership, I was searching for something to give it to them, but I didn't have anything.
I guess they are so desperate to get members, she just process the membership, gave me $45 GC without asking for any coupon or anything.
We shopped and paid with GC, I guess I am set for one year.

Does anyone know if we let our membership lapse about 2-3 months ago, will this promotion work since we are joining again as a new member?

I'm a Costco shopper too, but I used Sam's for a closer gas option several times. The gas prices are usually the same as Costco.

Free membership, why not. For one, can get gas when sam's is closer. Certain items in my area are cheaper at sams, like sandwich bags, olive oil, hand soap to name a few.

I have both Costco and Sam. I found that Sam checkout a lot more easier, I do think the food price a little cheaper than Costco. I believe the eggs selection and price better than Costco. Costco only carry Kirkland eggs, Sam has Eggland best, Vital Farm and Sam too. Take for example frozen pizza. CPK bbq chicken pizza at Sam 1 box 2 pizza sold for $7.98, Costco 1 box 3 pizza sold for $12.99. Fruits at Sam cheaper than Costco. Most of the time, if I see Sam has stuffs on sale, Costco in the same city match it. Sam portions are smaller than Costco so if you don't have a big family then it might help. Sam has energizer batteries including cell and lithium , Costco has duracell just now carries cell battery and no lithium. Costco has new products, and those road show products. Overall if I have to chose 1, I probably go with Costco cause more selection. It used to be I like Costco 95% to 5% on Sam but lately more like 60% Costco and 40% Sam.

Spoke with Sam's Club customer service about 2 weeks ago. Told your membership must be expired for 6 months before considered a "new" member sign up.

However, if someone else signs up as a new member then you can be their complimentary member no matter how long ago your membership expired.
