The NCVT5KIT includes a non-contact voltage tester with laser pointer and a GFCI receptacle tester. The NCVT-5 automatically detects and indicates voltage (12 - 1000V) allowing broad application. The RT210 will troubleshoot the most common wiring problems in standard and GFCI receptacles

I bought this with a multimeter years ago for a few bucks less. The tools are useful for a homeowner. Saved me from getting zapped a couple times and helped find a janky outlet that a tenant wrecked
+1. Not sure why you got a downvote. Klein stuff is overkill for most DIYers.
Not sure about down vote but I have Klein that looks exactly like this one except flashlight instead of laser (Model # NCVT-3R), very handy for "most DIYers" IMO although in some cases I don't like it as much as my Milwaukee one.

Overkill yes, but at this price its barely more or the same as anything reliable. This one is also drop rated which if you are like me... that is useful. Also useful for getting my cats away from a socket while working on it.
I really am waiting for the version with the small led flashlight to show up on a deal. That's usually what I need most as a prosumer. Frees up one hand while probing around things.

why do we need a laser pointer with these?
Not really meant for casual home usage... it's for electrical crews and for communicating items of interest.

For commercial and industrial foremen to point things out for the apprentices from the ground to a 40' ceiling.

They have options with either a laser pointer or a flashlight. I, myself, own the flashlight version which is quite helpful.
I could see the laser being useful when working with an apprentice.

Who wouldn't want a laser pointer?
