Tons of talk on here about getting a good one or getting a perfect panel, etc... How does one determine this after setting up outside of a cracked display or visible defect?

Are people just returning/exchanging if the display isn't "perfect" or is a less than perfect display the standard? Hope that part makes sense and my question isn't that stupid.

tomorrow by the way they are selling a 47" to 84" Full-Motion TV Wall Mount for $29 that should pair nicely with this tv. https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Ex.../368810908
So this mount is currently available for purchase...at regular price. Anyone know if Walmart will honor price adjustment or are the Black Friday deals exempt?

EDIT: may have answered my own question and the answer is no according to site. Still may purchase anyway just in case since $50 is still a good deal for a mount and don't want to miss out if I'm unsuccessful purchasing tomorrow at discounted rate.

I just went to pick mine up - Walmart said they sold too many, so instead they gave me a 65" Samsung TU7000. According to rtings it's a better TV - did I actually get super lucky? Or am I getting bamboozled somehow?
So reading the latest comments I basically shouldn't have picked my up my TV early because it seems that those that picked theirs up late get an upgrade or a different model. So with the 55 inch TCL tv coming out later today how can I make sure that happens. I don't want to risk getting my order cancelled due to them overselling it but a free upgrade would be nice.

Anybody know what screws is recommended for wall mounting this unit?

Update: Figured it out its wall mounted in all its glory, perfect screen no defects no lines no dead pixels. Now to the nitty gritty. This is the actual wall mounting information that should be stickied. Vesa pattern is NOT 400x200 as listed in description. It's actually 300x200 (as stated on actual box). Mounting screws is M6 10 with washers. The weird thing is the tv came with 2 short stubby ones screwed into back of tvs top 2 mounting holes, they fit perfect with no mount. But once you add your mount brackets/plate and washers the length of that screw is not enough trust me. The M6 10 is dead on the nuts for a mount plate plus washers (which I highly recommend) this unit is pretty heavy and the weight is not listed anywhere so I took zero chances. Do it right the first time. Now if for whatever reason you feel you need a longer screw you can try a m6 12 but I wouldn't go any longer without spacers. Attach mount plate and washer and hand tighten screw to make sure it doesn't bottom out if you feel like trying the m6 12. I went with m6 10s and washers for my mount as the mount plate is low pro. So mount screw size is M6, play with the length for your needs.

I could not fit it in my car. No matter what we tried.
I decided to return it - they said I have to wait 24 hours since it was dispensed to me. It's sitting at Walmart and I have to go back tomorrow. The 55" TCL will fit easily. Just needed a few more inche.
That's what she said

Lines/ DP is avoidable, but these panels still have tremendous amount of Mura defects.

Put on a dark teal slide, and you'll see it. go to windows background, set to a Dark Teal. lower the brightness until you see the splotches, that's the mura.

What it is is, when they put the layers together, if alignment isn't good or it got a bit smooshed, you get these splotches.

Anything in the 200-500 tv range will have this, They gotta get rid of C-grade panels some how.

Agree 100%
As someone else said, I could easily compare this TV's picture with a $1,000 TV. Perfect for everyday use.
Oh come on, I'm a fan of what hisense is able to produce for $228, but vs a $1000 tv, that's nonsense.

I bought 2 units, 1 was defective <in a way> that normal people probably wouldn't initially notice, but would bug them over time, bad blue channel gamma tracking. < color cast on grey scale >

2 units produced extremely different images, not even remotely the same, which means these were not properly setup at the factory during initial color tuning. They're probably cranking them out as fast as possible at this price.

Then there's the fact that the panels are C-grade. Lots of mura. My defective unit also had some dead pixels.

This ONN business is basically a walk through a minefield. It's safer for me because I own a colorimeter, but even then, there are some things I can't calibrate away.

Yes everyone saw your 20 font disgruntled post. And several other posts. How many others experienced this?

I'm sure you can find a $1,000 TV that's better, my point is this outperforms bottom tier TVs which was an unexpected surprise.

What's a C-grade panel? I'm sure if you run enough tests, you'll find scenarios where this doesn't perform well.

I don't have a budget comparison other than Vizio M7/LG UM7300; so far, this looks much better. Certain aspects, like brightness, surpass several much more expensive sets I have.

Panels are sorted at the factory, best panels are set into the expensive models. A C-grade panel is one with noticeable mura defects and pixel imperfections.

This ONN tv measures 230-240nits peak, I know because I measured it. UM7300 and M7 both measure higher, it's impossible for this ONN 65 to be brighter.

If you're using the default normal color temp, it's around 8500k, that bumps the brightness because it has extra blue, but it's very much a Blued-Out image. It is brighter than 230, but normalized against an M7 or 7300, the ONN is much dimmer.

So, your observation is partially right, it could be the case that it's brighter perceptually due to contrast imbalance/ blue cast, but it does the community a disservice if we claim out-rightly untrue specifications.

I don't have whatever tool measures nits, but I can say this Onn. is significantly brighter than either of the aforementioned sets based on relatively good eyesight and even when I set the Onn to darker, my bedroom cam doesn't go into night vision mode (whereas it did with a Samsung and the M7). I guess it's possible I got an especially good Onn panel and my vizio and lg were poor.

I've used 4-5 usb monitors for years that run ~200-250 nits and its impossible for me to believe this is only 250 nits.

Ok from my perspective, you're trying to weigh 2 fat-guys by eye.

I measured my fat-dude with a scale. What's there to argue.

You also shouldn't compare brightness to monitors, because a 65" panel @ 250 nits is equivalent to 5x 24" monitors @ 250nits, So you're comparing 1 panel to 5 panels that way. Of course the bigger panel will be perceptually brighter.

These measurements have to be normalized. for display Area.

I fear this is like the old stereo receiver wars. -You could buy a receiver with .08% distortion for $500 or you could buy a receiver with .02% distortion for $3000. A sales guy tried to convince me the $3000 was 'all that' and way better. Frankly, I couldn't tell the difference. Like all things, at what point do you get little return for higher cost? Personally I would rather have this TV that works fine for $250 (and money in the bank) than a 10% better TV at $1000.

I know some folks are videophiles and that's their thing... I get it, but to some people they just want to watch tv with a decent picture because ??? cars are their thing. copy?
